The NC State Veterinary Hospital (VH), established in 1983, is one of the highest rated veterinary academic medical centers in the country, serving communities throughout North Carolina as well as many other states. The hospital staffs over 20 clinical services with board certified specialists that are nationally and even internationally renowned, ensuring the VH is on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine. Patients benefit from the combined expertise of multiple specialists utilizing a team approach to patient health care. each year, nearly 35,000 patients are treated in the VH. The VH provides compassionate care, state of the art specialty health care, expert clinical instruction for 4th year veterinary students from the College of Veterinary Medicine, and ongoing investigation of innovative techniques and procedures to further advance the field of veterinary medicine.

Essential Job Duties

Primary duties of the Client Services Representative include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring excellent customer service to current and potential clients as well as referring veterinarians at the Terry Center Small Animal Hospital.
  • Checking in clients, answers phone calls, makes appointments and processes deposits and payments.
  • Working closely with internal and external clients as well as referring veterinarians to answer any questions or concerns.
  • Taking detailed consult and referral information from referring veterinarians.
  • Having the ability to multi-task and manage multiple incoming phone lines is crucial to this position.

    Minimum Experience/Education

    High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

    Other Required Qualifications
    • Knowledge of MS Office products and/or Google Apps (or similar software), email, fax and copy machines.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, faculty, and staff.
    • Ability to interpret VHC guidelines and client needs to determine emergency situations.
    • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple incoming phone lines.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.

      Preferred Qualifications

      Previous client service experience in a veterinary or medical setting preferred.

      Required License or Certification


      Valid NC Driver's License required

      Commercial Driver's License Required?
