Overview:
- This position leads daily onsite efforts to maintain
functionality of equipment within the Banks Data Centers. Ensures
all electrical, mechanical, fire, and life safety equipment is
fully operational through inspection, maintenance, and repair.
Responds immediately to emergency issues and monitors onsite
vendors when consultation is necessary. Provides advanced support
to data center activities by maintaining crucial equipment uptime
and resolving work order requests. Provides guidance and leadership
in daily activities to less experienced technicians, and serves as
the technical point of contact for facility infrastructure. This
position reports to the Supervisor of Critical Facilities while
leading a team of Critical Facility Technicians on a daily basis.
Responsibilities:
- Facility Support - Maintains equipment crucial for operating
abilities, health and safety, and emergency response through
regular inspection, conducting repairs, and addressing work order
requests. Manages preventative maintenance activities and
schedules, and assists in facility inspections and reports.
Possesses advanced knowledge of and familiarity with data center
equipment. Supports critical equipment that must maintain better
than 99.8% uptime.
- Coordination - Partners with business units, managers, and
other stakeholders on planned and completed work, risks, and
impacts. Communicates clearly to identify and respond to ongoing
equipment issues, and updates appropriately upon resolution.
- Team Leadership - Leads, trains, and supports less experienced
technicians in the work group. Assists management with facility
projects and revision or development of operating procedures.
Implements site or equipment-specific training exercises. Performs
quality control reviews and writes operational procedures.
- Emergency Response - Responsible for being on-call in emergency
work situations and inclement weather.
- Vendor Management - Leads in vendor training and daily
direction. Provides oversight including effective work order
communications, service ticket management, performance and
accountability monitoring, and vendor procurement activities.
- Position Schedule - Saturday and Sunday each weekend (12 AM to
12 PM) and then during the week there will be 2, 8 Hour 3rd shift
days which will be the same days/ schedule each week.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of
experience in Installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical
or mechanical systems within Data Center environments OR High
School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Installation,
repair, and maintenance of electrical or mechanical systems within
Data Center environments
Preferred Education: Relevant
Military, Technical Trade School with certifications
Preferred Area of Study: Military
background, major electrical, HVAC, and mechanical
Preferred Area of Experience: Lead
Technician or Senior level managing others in critical environments
while maintaining crucial HVAC, electrical, life safety, and
mechanical equipment
License or Certification Type: Valid
driver's license Required
Skill(s): Technical knowledge of
mechanical and electrical support systems within a Data Center,
Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb and work off a ladder, and use
safety gear, Ability to work indoors and outdoors in environments
with fumes, noise, cold, heat, etc., Ability to travel. Position
requires frequent driving to other offices, bank customers, etc. ,
Residence within 30 miles or 45 minutes of the assigned Critical
Facility
