Division is currently seeking a Lead NPI Electrical Systems
Engineer to join our team. This position will be a hybrid
office/remote role, if you live within 50 miles of our Raleigh, NC
facility. Relocation benefits and sponsorship will be provided
within the United States only. Position Overview: The Lead NPI
Electrical Systems Engineer designing the hardware architecture and
implementing it for new product development projects in high-power
three-phase UPS's, EV chargers and battery storage. The role
includes all aspects of product design life cycle from concept to
production as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team. This
person will be the project "go to" power electronics hardware
design engineer for day-to-day circuit design and analysis,
hardware verification testing and results analysis. If you have a

- Successfully launch critical power infrastructure products that
meet customer requirements and Eaton safety, quality, reliability,
cost and schedule commitments.
- Work with cross-functional engineering team to define
requirements and create detailed system and circuit designs for new
products including SiC three-phase UPS's from 500kW to 2.5MW, 150kW
to 500kW EV DC fast-chargers and Lithium Ion 1MW and larger energy
storage systems.
- Leverage your skill and experience by giving guidance and
leadership to other technical project team members.
- Work with global product development teams to solve problems
related to performance, functionality, safety, reliability, quality
and component availability.
- Participate in project-wide reviews of requirements, system
architecture, and detailed design documents.
- Take ownership of power train circuit simulation, design margin
calculations, critical component thermal analysis and stability
analysis.
- Lead product functional and performance verification testing by
owning lab station and providing direction to engineers and
technicians.
- Identify opportunities for process, tools, and test methodology
improvements, and drive those from concept to implementation.
- Communicate technical concepts and information to internal
staff/peers and stakeholders; strong verbal and written
documentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Participate in design reviews working within Eaton's Pro Launch
product development structure.
- Validate official customer product releases as needed to
support the target release schedule. When we embrace the different

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical -Engineering from an accredited
institution.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of combined experience in Power
Electronics R&D and product development with proven track
record of commercial launch of high quality products Preferred
qualifications:
- Master's -degree or Ph. D -in Electrical -Engineering from an
accredited institution
- Minimum of three (3) -years of experience with high power (>
50kW) three-phase 480Vac UPS's, motor drives or similar
products
- Experience in low and medium voltage power conversion and power
systems engineering, including creating specifications, defining
application space, designing technical solution concepts, and
building and testing prototypes to validate models/hypotheses and
documenting results. -
- Experience in the following areas: Medium voltage motor drive
technology, drive/converter topologies, high-power electronics;
energy storage; grid connected converters.
- Experience in modeling power converters and power systems using
simulation tools (example: MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, Simplorer, PSIM
and/or PSCAD)
- Understanding of how thermal management affects the overall
performance of the system, appreciation for the trade-offs
necessary to achieve designs that meet performance requirements and
cost objective solutions.
- Experience with the design and analysis of magnetic components
for power electronics circuits-such as high-frequency inductors and
transformers-and knowledge of the materials and construction
techniques and how they affect their characteristics.
- Experience with proven track record in new technology
