Position DescriptionPay Grade: Professional 6The Position Budget Analyst creates position codes for both full-time and part-time positions and is responsible for managing the Position Control and Position Budgeting modules in Colleague.Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.*Creates/ends position codes for full-time and part-time positions and assigns payroll budget codes to appropriate funding sources after obtaining appropriate documentation from Human Resources regarding pay class, job title, and pay status. Ends old/inactive position codes*Creates and maintains supervisory hierarchy*Creates and maintains vacancy and lapsed salary data. Maintains salary caps per state mandates*Grants self-service access requests to college employees and maintains self-service access tracking spreadsheet*Collaborates with VPs and Budget Officers to update funding source percentages for split-coded employees*Posts journal entries and manages payroll budgets across the collegeCollaborates with departmental personnel and Human Resources to process division/department reorganizationsPrepares annual Longevity Report for the North Carolina Community College System OfficeWorks with Sponsored Programs to ensure applicable employees are paid correctly from grantsReviewing and monitoring payroll encumbrancesCompletes an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basisQualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesIntermediate skills with MS Office productsAble to maintain records accurately and able to meet deadlines consistentlyAbility to multitaskAble and willing to be an active member of the team; team-orientedExcellent organizational skillsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent critical thinking, problem-solving skillsMinimum RequirementsAssociate degree in Accounting or a Business-related fieldFive to seven years of experience in Accounting and/or Human ResourcesPreferencesBachelor's degree in Accounting or a Business-related fieldColleague experience in HR or Payroll functions
