Job Description:

The Position:
The Senior Enterprise Architect reviews current and potential technologies, standards, applications, services and systems to ensure the appropriate and successful use of technology in support of Arch Insurance's applications and business. They are an established enterprise architect with broad domain experience in our business, systems, and technology. - This role is also responsible for IT governance oversight, ensuring accurate and timely collection of key metrics and performance indicators that are used to make departmental decisions.

Job Responsibilities:
Owns the Infrastructure, Application and Data technical domains for Arch and drives the organizations assets from the current state to target state architectureMaintains subject matter expertise in these domains both business and technicalCollaborates with members of IT to review and assess the architecture of Products, Systems, or Applications for compliance to existing standards, guidelines, or best practicesCollaborates with other Enterprise Architects, Domain Owners and APMs (Agile Program Managers) to ensure that any recommendations or approaches will align well from an Application, Infrastructure, and Data perspectivePerforms in depth technical analysis, research, proof of concepts, and evaluations as required to validate that the recommendations Enterprise Architecture makes are sound and will not introduce risk into IT ExecutionMaintains an understanding of long-term company strategy and ensures that designs will enable the company to meet the changing industry/competitive demandsReviews Systems, Applications, or Products and provides recommendations for improvements that will enhance the alignment to standards, best practices, or guidelinesCollaborates with Enterprise Architecture and other members of the wider Arch IT team to define architecture standards that drive business capabilities and optimization to create efficiency, quality and agilityMust be able to effectively communicate, and influence teams to do what is best for Arch Insurance without direct reporting responsibilityMay be asked to perform other duties as required

Required Skills/Experience:
Extensive knowledge of technology service management and governance frameworks, especially ITILExperience working directly with IT and business usersExperience managing ITSM in a regulated environment (Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI, and NYDFS).Exceptional Customer and End User Experience focusExpertise with incident, major incident, problem, change, release, knowledge, and asset managementDeep functional and technical knowledge of ITIL workflow platforms such as Service NowCritical thinking for analysis of existing processes to implement continuous improvement programsExperienced in working with on- and off-shore service desk, infrastructure, and application support teams to continuously identify opportunities to improve L1/L2 experience and support activitiesDemonstrated experience optimizing and improving SLAs, incidents, change quality, asset qualityDesire to measure and continuously improve in all areas and facets; metrics & reporting mindset; ability to identify crucial KPI for the organization broadly and service-based KPI as neededKnowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity best practices including planning and testing.Strong leadership, people management, and organizational development skillsExperience working in a hybrid on- and off-shore modelTransformative mindset and experience operating as a change agentCultural preference to leading by example and servant leadershipExperience developing, improving, automating service catalogs reducing manual work and wait timesPrepares presentations, documents, diagrams, models, and other artefacts as required to communicate analysis, recommendations, or designs.Communicates with stakeholders at varying levels within the organization to drive our use of technology forwardWorks independently with little supervision and drives assigned activities to desired outcomes and resultsServes as a trusted advisor to the CIO and IT Leadership teamPrepares materials to support the IT Governance Committee (monthly) and IT Steering Committee (as required)Analyses collected data to identify what contributed to performance positively or negatively to foster a culture of continuous improvement and to drive to outcomesCoordinates, projects and activities to ensure they are completed on time with limited supervision from managementCollaborates across teams and functions to ensure that all information collected is accurate and objective

Required knowledge & skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related experience in software development, infrastructure delivery, and/or information managementPrior experience and accountability for system or applications architectures is expected
