Job Description:
Job DescriptionRoofing is serious business, but we believe
employees are part of our family and we all should have a bit of
fun in our day. We're looking for someone who wants to become the
newest member of our family to oversee new construction and
reroofing projects. The construction manager works with the project
manager, technicians and subcontractors to ensure the successful
and profitable completion of roofing installations.What will you
do?
- Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction
sites to verify safety and to ensure specifications are being
met.
- Act as the first point of contact for crews, delegate project
responsibilities to the crew foreman as required to better manage
his time, job profitability, and the project overall.
- Maintain the highest standard of safety controls over projects
and always report infractions to project manager.
- Purchase and schedule all labor and materials after initial
project buyout by project manager, organizing delivery of
additional materials, roof access equipment, dumpsters, and labor
as needed if within the project budget.
- Advise project manager of any deviation from plans, scope, or
if any field conditions deviate from plans. Relay and document
change order information to project manager for pricing.
- Oversee material inventories to ensure no shortages or
delays.
- Problem solve in the field with GC and crews if within the
quoted scope & budget. Only deviations should require the
involvement of project manager.What experience should you have?
- Proficient in low slope roofing systems including metal, TPO,
EPDM, PVC & Modified Bitumen/Asphalt. Shingles is a plus but not
required.
- 3-5 years' experience as a construction manager or
superintendent.
- Strong ability to lead others.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal oversight.
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced
environment
- Ability to work strenuously (bending, lifting, stooping) in
all-weather environments.
- Working knowledge of basic math skills for material
calculations.
- Open availability Monday through Friday with the possibility of
working weekends and on-call as business needs determine.
