SAT is a department of Environmental Health and Public Safety. We serve and support campus departments, satellite facilities, and corporate partners. The enterprise-level security technologies include electronic door access, video, intrusion detection, and emergency communication.Essential Job Duties:The primary purpose of the position is to update and support existing software systems, and to design, code, test and debug new applications. The person in this position works with functional areas to understand business requirements and implement applications to meet those needs. This person also participates in the necessary software development lifecycle, as applicable.Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and support software functionality for SAT
  • Deploy applications for campus users, including students, faculty, staff and affiliates
  • Bug fixes and data migrations
  • Conduct peer reviews of the code
  • Bring industry standards to design processes
  • Assist with other updates to systems as neededOther Responsibilities:Other duties as assigned.Minimum Education and Experience:Entry level with Masters degree, or a Bachelors degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience.Other Required Qualifications:
    • Ability to develop highly interactive web applications with technologies like Angular, React, Typescript, HTML, and CSS
    • Ability to build prototypes to create and validate user interface design to meet customer requirements
    • Ability to integrate with backend web services, database systems including sql and no-sql databases
    • Ability to independently self-direct daily activities
    • Ability to deliver according to the project plan, and to communicate risks in a timely mannerPreferred Qualifications:
      • Ability to make independent decisions about user interface design and proactively come up with solutions for Web Application GUI requirements
      • Experience with API and database technologies like Python, SQL and REST
      • Experience with continuous integration and deployment, and testing of code
      • Experience with the agile development process; familiar with using git to manage source code
