We take pride in our employees and our employees take pride in being a valued team member at Butterball! -Join us Today and enjoy these great perks! - - - - - - Academic Tuition Reimbursement - - - - - Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits - - - - - Employee Assistance Program - - - - - 401KPosition Summary: -The Plant Services Operator position is responsible for sorting discarded items from the plant onto designated trailers, compactors, bins for proper disposal.Essential Duties, Functions and responsibilities:--- - - - -Sort trash when brought to trash room (carboard / plastic / wood and trash)--- - - - -Take all cardboard and put in baler (manual load process)--- - - - -When baler is full put baling wire around bale and remove from baler and stage to go to recycle trailers--- - - - -Dump meat in v-ram and separate plastic line from cardboard--- - - - -Move plastic pallets and tubs from trash room to end of hall to be picked up for washing--- - - - -Take wood pallets that are broken and stage to go in the recycle area--- - - - -Keep hallway, trash room floor and area around dumpsters are clean throughout the day ---- - - - -Make sure appropriate marking (blue dye-denatured) is on meat pending disposal, then stage in trash room to be put in v-ram--- - - - -Pack out trash compactors before they are pulled (GFL to pick up)--- - - - -Operate v-ram and dumper.--- - - - -Stage empty barrels on a pallet, when pallet is full send to recycles trailer--- - - - -Put any metal that comes in trash room in metals bin then when its full stage it for lull driver to empty in metal recycle open top--- - - - -Send tubs and pallets tagged as bad to recycle areaKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:--- - - - -Experience operating: Forklift and/or Electric Pallet Jack ---- - - - -Must be able to become Certified in operating Forklift and Electric pallet jack--- - - - -Maintain a clean and organized work area.--- - - - -Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. -Physical Requirements:--- - - - -Standing 8 - 10 hours per day.--- - - - -Lifting up to 50 lbs.--- - - - -Bending, stooping, twisting, and squatting.Working Conditions/Department Description:--- - - - -May work in hot/cold and indoor/outdoor environment--- - - - -TrashroomJob assignments are subject to the supervisor's discretion, and job duties may vary day-to-day depending on production needs.We embrace equal opportunity employment.
