Share Print VMWare Environment Specialist Primary Location: Raleigh, North Carolina V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a VMWare Environment Specialist for our premier client in Raleigh, North Carolina. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Technical Requirements and Certifications Linux/Windows server Certifications a plus. Education and Experience 8 years' experience as a System Administrator Work with the server team to support projects and develop appropriate solutions with technology options as needed. Experience in Managing VMware VCenter 6.7 or later. Experience in managing Nagios. Experience of customer support in a time-critical environment Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Provide hands-on support of the UNIX /Windows environment including OS administration and systems support. Interfaces strongly with Security, Audit, DBA, Networking, Microsoft and development groups. Analytical and methodical approach to problem solving. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Manage and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux on x86. Manage and maintain Windows servers. Manage and maintain SQL servers. Manage and maintain Storage such as Pure storage and VSAN. Demonstrated knowledge of Red Hat Linux on x86 platforms. Strong shell scripting abilities Ability to implement Processes and Procedures creating controls and standardization across large regions. Business aware and focused on service delivery. Standard office automation products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) Desired: VMware Vcenter experience. Managing UCS blade servers. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Job Responsibilities: Install, maintain and upgrade internal computer software systems used for designing and developing company products. Research, evaluate and recommend software and hardware products. Maintain the VMware-based environments Monitor the virtual server infrastructure environment's health status. Be willing to travel at any time to troubleshoot any hardware issues in data centers in Raleigh and Charlotte area. Control user access and passwords. Propose and implement systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. Monitor usage and performance. Train personnel on system usage. Provide new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. On-call support every other week and occasional weekend/holiday work required. Work as a team member in a fast-paced environment 24/7, 7 days a week. Interested?
