ADOPTION SPECIALIST -- SPCA Wake

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour with scheduled salary increases at anniversary
of hire date

As an Adoption Specialist you (and your teammates) are responsible
for helping customers through the pet adoption process, sharing
information about animal care and behavior, reviewing adoption
surveys, speaking with potential adopters in a conversational - and
kind way, making decisions on finalizing adoptions, and
communicating with the client in such a manner that maintains a
courteous and friendly customer experience. You will work with a
dynamic assortment of volunteers and customers. We practice
fear-free animal handling at all times. Training is provided. -You
might be a born Adoption Specialist if:
---You're a "people person" with a heart for animals. -
---You have exceptional customer service skills and enjoy working
in a fast-paced environment.
---You love a good checklist to ensure everything is completed at
day's end and multi-tasking is kind of your thing. -
--- You believe "every pot has a lid".
Required:
--- Must love animals and care even more about people
--- One year or more customer service experience
--- Previous animal handling experience
--- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays
and Sundays, some holidays.
--- Valid driver's license (some animal transport van driving
required)
--- A high school diploma or equivalent
--- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
--- Must be comfortable kneeling, crouching, reaching overhead and
lifting, carrying, and pulling up to 20 lbs.BENEFITS:
