Job Description:

Overview:As an Estimating Scheduler for our Mid-Atlantic Division, you will prepare estimate schedules by analyzing specifications and contract plans to determine construction sequence and logic while incorporating typical construction practices to reach pursuit, schedule and price goals.What you will be doing:

• Reviews proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate schedule.Develop baseline schedule for bid process by working with estimating and engineering teams to accurately identify the sequence of all project work to be performed.Develops and manages project estimate schedules and narratives based on production information from estimating team.Provides technical input regarding project and contract risks to lead estimator responsible for final bid price approval. Reviews final estimate to ensure defined work aligns with overall project schedule and cost goals.Monitors client addendum and advises the estimating team on changes to the schedule during the estimate period.Assists with design review options and recommends best solution based on schedule, cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.Partners with estimating team to prepare and conduct project hand-off meetings between pursuit team and project management team.Proficient with the generation and maintenance of cost and resource loaded schedules.
• Maintains knowledge of Companys values and strategic plan.
• Support published corporate policies.
• Perform additional assignments per managements direction.What we are looking for:
  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
  • 3+ years of heavy civil construction scheduling or estimating experience preferred.
  • Ability to interface and effectively communicate with others.
  • Ability to interface and effectively communicate with others.
  • Knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling techniques.
  • Primavera P6 software experience .
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Primavera P6.
  • Ability to self-prioritize and self-start projects and task work.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task similar activities in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software.Communication and interpersonal skills for clear and effective support research, recommendations and pricing.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Time management and strong prioritization skills to meet tight turnaround and bid deadlines.
  • Growing knowledge of alternative construction delivery methods.
