NC FAST requires a Senior Cloud engineer with prior migration and implementation experience to cloud platforms.

The NC Department of Health and Human Services seeks a contractor resource for the NC FAST (Families Accessing Services through Technology). This position will serve as a Senior Cloud Engineer responsible for working with the Architects and developers to come up with cloud infrastructure solution for application need(s) as well as implement and manage the solution.

This position requires prior experience as a cloud engineer in designing and implementing modern technologies on cloud infrastructure including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions. This position will be responsible for development practices, performing system analysis, construct and implement new cloud functionality, participate in migrating existing application to cloud, manage cloud implementation, evaluating cloud models and various technology software as NC FAST moves forward with a technology modernization effort.

This position will be responsible for engineering processes across various areas like servers/EC2, applications, and databases and monitor them to ensure everything works as it should, taking necessary steps to facilitate spikes in traffic and usage.
This position also requires management of various tasks and activities on the architecture team. This position requires substantial communication in verbal and written forms, establishing guidelines and guardrails for system/infrastructure enhancements, and providing analysis of software, technology, and a variety of proposed solutions to various problems.

Individual is expected to have strong knowledge with AWS tools like CloudFormation, DynamoDB, SQS, Elastic Beanstalk, ELB, AutoScaling, and EC2, and have experience working with Linux.
