oversees the daily activities, including designating material
staging areas, overseeing, and training individuals in roofing
system installations, and crew personnel management scheduling and
issues. The foreman will be responsible for installing roofing
system in the safest, highest quality and most cost-effective
manner.RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual

Education: High School/ G.E.DYears of
Experience: 4-5 years of roofing / sheet metal
experienceCertifications: OSHA-10 is a plusDriver's License:

Knowledge of safety techniques and
procedures and set up a safety plan, including toolbox talks,
safety huddles, equipment inspectionsAbility to work independently,
supervise, and lead the crew to meet quality and production
goalsAbility to calculate / control labor projections and material
needs including inventoriesAttention to detail, ability to
prioritize task and meet deadlinesAbility to organize, plan, and
execute work assignmentsAbility to read shop drawings and reproduce
detailsKnowledge of how to layout roofs and wallsInterpersonal and
leadership skills necessary to work with the teamGeneral knowledge
of construction materials and tools involved in the assembly,
installation, or repair of roofing structures (metal metallurgy
compatibility)Ability to identify problems and develop solutions in
a timely mannerAbility to use oral or written communication to
convey information effectivelyUse of logic and reasoning to
identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions,

Functions
Thoroughly review job file and shop
drawing with manager and including the scope of work, materials
ordered and delivery schedule, budget for labor productions
(man-days), and job site contactsEnsure that proper safety and
equipment are on the job and used in the proper manner; Foreman
needs to coordinate these needs with the manager but is ultimately
responsibleSupervise and support crew every day about safety,
quality, and labor productionSupervise for quality controlMeet with
GC and customersMonitor and maintain job site cleanliness and daily
housekeepingConduct on-site meetings and train the crew and
subcontractorsEnsure that all materials received are counted and
compared to purchase order - Plan ahead and monitor needs daily to
avoid running out of materialsMake sure on-site equipment is
monitored and maintained, such as oil changes on kettle motors,
belts on cutters, etc. - Notify the tool room or garage of any
broken or defective equipment before returning -Receive
manufacturer training Prepare and submit daily job reports, field
progress problems, technical questions, and timesheets, as directed
by managerResponsible for overall quality control of each job
including: checking for water tightness, mops left on the roof,
ensuring the job site is complete and has been cleaned up properly,
coordinate punch list and job close out before crew leaves job site
for the last timeReview job performance with manager regarding
safety, quality, and budget when job has been completedAttend all
coordination planning meetingsInstall, repair, or replace metal
roofing systems, using waterproof sheet materials such as modified
plastics, elastomeric, or other asphaltic compositionsCut felt,
shingles, and strips of flashing, and fit them into angles formed
by walls, vents, and intersecting roof surfaces Install vapor
barriers and/or layers of insulation on the roof decks of roofs and
seal the seamsCover exposed nail heads with roofing cement or
caulking to prevent water leakage and rustInstall partially
overlapping layers of material over roof insulation surfaces,
determining distance of roofing material overlap using chalk
linesCovering roofs and exterior walls of structures with
single-ply systems, aluminum, wood, gypsum, and/or related
materials, using brushes, knives, punches, hammers, and other
toolsOperate vehicles, mechanized devices, or equipment - Repair
cracks, defects, or damage, using proper materialsApply adhesives,
caulking, sealants, or coatings Inspect equipment, structures, and
materialTrain and coach other employeesEvaluate information to
determine compliance with standardsAdhere to company safety
policies and proceduresPhysical Demands
