This is a remote position; the selected candidate can reside and perform the work from anywhere within the United States.
About the Role:

The Experience Strategy Team is growing and looking for someone who is passionate about helping our team in multi-channel experience transformations for General Motors. In this role, you will join our team of strategists to assist in taking a customer-led design approach to identify and frame opportunities, run lean experiments to accelerate learnings and define innovative and aspirational visions of the customer experience. You'll work hand-in-hand with multidisciplinary teams of product owners, channel teams, researchers, creative teams, and business leads to successfully define the future evolutions of our digital products and experiences.
Experience Strategy Development:

Work with other strategists and strategic project teams to apply design-thinking, change management, process improvement or innovation methods to drive customer-focused experience strategies

Gather existing primary research, secondary research and data about strategic challenges and distill to key insights to inform the approach for the initiative or project

Gather and assess customer behavior experience trends, market trends and competitive and analogous information that are relevant to the challenge to inform the strategy

Join the team in performing primary ethnographic research to gather data and observations to inform the experience. Assist in synthesizing the data to drive actionable insights to prepare a summary of the research to socialize with key stakeholders.

Assist with development of strategic recommendations for the desired customer experience for new or incremental offerings and experiences on digital channels

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Engage with multiple stakeholders at various levels to ensure alignment and buy-in for strategic recommendations

Consider experiences holistically and engage with impacted product and channel owners

Work collaboratively with lines of business, channel, brands, journey managers, brands and other impacted areas to develop strategic recommendations and inform implementation roadmaps

Coordinate research needs with internal or external research teams, driving learning objectives and ensuring quality research outcomes

Workshop Facilitation:

Assist with designing a variety of design-thinking and visioning workshops

Facilitate workshops to help participants align around common understandings and direction

Design Communication:

Work with other strategists to build the strategic recommendation briefs and presentation summaries

Employ strong storytelling and communications skills to craft narratives to influence strategic direction and change

Project Management:

Help define and manage team Wiki with process and resource information

Help in managing project approach, milestones and deliverables

Ensure proper documentation and organization for each strategic initiative

Required Qualifications
Additional Job Description
Bachelor's degree in Design, Business, Marketing, or related studies

2+ years prior experience in design thinking, design strategy or experience strategy disciplines

Basic understanding and practice of design thinking and innovation methodologies

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Practiced analytical thinking skills with the proven ability to synthesize and distill varied sources of data and information.

Comfort operating and flexing in ambiguity. Demonstrates a learning mindset.

Preferred Qualifications
Solid understanding of technology and a product development lifecycle

Familiarity with Agile frameworks

Experience in workshop facilitation

Compensation : The median level of salary compensation for this role is $72,435 to $115,709 USD Annual
Bonus Potential : An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
