    • Multicloud/Hybrid cloud experience highly desiredSenior Solution Architect Professional Services Position Summary: We're looking for an experienced candidate for the Professional Services Solution Architect role that applies a specialized knowledge of solutioning principles and technology to select sales opportunities with moderate to high NRR potential that lead to follow on opportunities with high MRR potential and a broad knowledge of services and technology are need. Is regarded as an expert inside of Rackspace in a Professional Services solutioning team. Works in close collaboration with the sales team and primary Solutions team contact to design specific and innovative Professional Services components of an overall complex solution related to the customers, development, migration and transformation initiatives. Leads internal efforts to build credibility within specific technologies as they apply to Professional Services.
      • Works independently, but receives some guidance and direction from manager then determines best approach to accomplish work.
      • Develop deep professional relationships with clients and act as a trusted business and technical advisor for client executives. Well versed in related topics with the ability to navigate complex negotiations.
      • Provides guidance, expertise, and training to new team members.
      • Exercises independent judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
      • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments with little instruction.
      • Influence is beyond their personal role and leads pre-sales projects with impact across multiple Rackspace teams including but not limited to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Product Management and the Solutions and Sales teams. Provides mentorship to fellow Solution team members.ResponsibilitiesLeads customer workshops to educate on specific technologies and concepts.Elevates the rest of the solutions team in their area of expertise.Supplemental resource on highly specialized customer engagements that require advanced guidance on specific technologies or concepts related to Professional Services project based outcomes.Evaluates customer needs and provides customer with direction on technical and transformational concepts that solve for current and future challenges.Full understanding of the tools of the solutioning trade (Salesforce, Proposal Tools, Project Scoping and Technology Tools).Writes formal project proposals and statements of work that capture the customer's requirements, propose innovative solutions that meet their business and technical objectives and estimate the effort required to execute projects aimed at specific goals and target outcomes.Determines level of effort for project tasks within applicable methodologies, i.e. Agile or Waterfall project management.Responsible for associated activities such as capturing notes and activities in Salesforce and assisting in managing deal pipeline.Recognizes buying signs, compelling events, and decision makers.Foresees potential technical and business customer objections early in the sales cycle.Overcomes concerns and lowers customer risk to selecting Rackspace.As a Trusted Advisor, with deep understanding of the customer's business, uncovers both overt and latent pains specific to their specialty domain expertise.Decisions impact the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own function/client group.May impact other related teams through quality of output and service provided.Demonstrates strong judgment and creativity in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.Works on complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.Completes tactical work, using learning and creativity to resolve new situations.Contributes to analysis and solution of business problems regarding operations, products, services or customers.Analyzes information, asks questions and checks for understanding using learned techniques and applying creativity in new situations.Applies Acquired Skills And Experience To Complete Complex Tasks.Suggests and develops improvements to existing processes and solutions to improve the efficiency of the team.Networks with key internal and external contacts, developing strong relationships outside of specialty field.Partner with our practice leaders to improve our offerings by understanding the future of technology, market fit, and competition.Become a thought leader by educating and sharing best practices, building deep relationships with technical leaders, running customer workshops, contributing to publications, whitepapers, conferences, etc.Partner with the delivery teams to maintain knowledge of progress on active engagements and proactively manage critical issues that may create risk for the relationship with the customer and impact future growth and retention of the accountPosition RequirementsExperienced professional using best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.Requires solid understanding of the processes, procedures and systems used to accomplish the work and in-depth familiarity with the broader underlying concepts in own job family/job discipline.Applies understanding of how the team relates to other closely related areas to improve efficiency of own team.Specialized technical knowledge with ability to quickly learn new concepts.Maintains strong knowledge of the entire Rackspace portfolio.Deep and focused knowledge on products and services within their specialty domain including expertise that extends beyond the Rackspace portfolio.Recognized within Rackspace for their proven extensive technical knowledge within a specific domain (Cloud, Security, DevOps, etc.).Demonstrated success in positioning Rackspace against our competition.Excellent attention to detail, communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.Ability to prioritize deals, training, and initiatives through highly effective time management.Excellent problem solving, analytical, presentation, and whiteboarding skills.Track record of success working through technical challenges requiring specialty knowledge within enterprise organizations.Track record of success dealing with ambiguity (internal and external) and working collaboratively with other departments and organizations to solve challenging problems.Advanced knowledge and thought leadership on technology and industry trends that affect hosting decisions for enterprise organizations.Sales training & advanced technical training across multiple technologies within a single domain (Cloud, Security, DevOps, etc.)Education RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business required or close to 10+ years of professional working experience in a similar capacity (Technology services or consulting)High school diploma required.CertificationsAt least ONE industry certifications required: AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, etc.At least ONE top tier technical certifications in a highly desired: i.e. CISSP, ITIL MALC, etc. Additional Business focused and Rackspace product certifications highly desired but not required.The following information is
