Please check out more at Job SummaryThe IT Disaster Recovery Architect (DR A) is responsible for designing and implementing disaster recovery solutions for Gilead systems using Gilead's standard suite of DR tools, VMWare SRM, Zerto Virtual Replication, CloudEndure (for AWS) and others. The DR A will work directly with the Gilead DR Program Manager, Gilead System Managers, and the DR Managed Services team to gather requirements for DR solutions (system architecture, connectivity requirements, regulatory and business requirements), then plan, implement and test DR solutions and DR plans for each Gilead system in scope for DR.The DR A will take the lead technical lead role in discovery, solution engineering, presentation, training, documentation and testing for DR solutions based on individual project needs and is responsible for the technical integrity of delivering application DR related projects while providing technical guidance to Gilead application System Manager's (SM) teams and collaborating with other project leads (Architects, IT leads, boundary application SMs). The DR A will also collaborate with the DR Program Manager and other IT stakeholders in selecting new DR tools and strategies, testing new DR Solutions, and designing automation to augment standard DR tools as needed, and setting overall DR strategy for Gilead. Functional Job ResponsibilitiesThe IT Disaster Recovery Architect will be a key member of the DR Program team and will be responsible for the following key activities:Develops subject master expertise (SME) in the Gilead's standard DR Tools and their integration with relevant other systems such as VMWare, Storage (SAN/NAS), Network and AWS.Serves as the Technical lead on relevant DR solution design for Gilead systems and related projectsPartners with Business Process Owners (BPOs), Gilead System Managers (SM) and other business users to verify business needs and Disaster Recovery requirements that must be met by the defined platformsAssists other DR program team members and Gilead application owners with deploying DR solutions for various Gilead applications using the supported DR tools (SRM, Zerto, CloudEndure)Develop DR plans and procedures to document DR Solutions for use in testing programs as well as incident response.Assist as a technical lead in annual DR testing and DR incident response.Assist Gilead System Managers with SOP creation or updates relating to DR policies and procedures as needed.Provides visibility of projects or changes to other systems that may affect DR applications/systems and ensures there is no degradation of service.Keeps abreast of industry trends and advancements in relevant technologyHelps ensure DR program and DR solutions maintain compliance with DR policy, and other applicable policies and procedures as needed.Basic QualificationsHigh School Degree and Twelve Year's Experience OR Associates Degree and Ten Years Experience OR Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years' Experience OR Masters' Degree and Six Years' ExperiencePreferred Qualifications 5+ years experience working in a Technical Lead role Hands on experience in Business Continuity and Disaster RecoveryDirect experience with operating or administering at least one of the following Disaster Recovery solutions: SRM, Zerto, AWS Cloud EndureSome experience with AWS system administration, design, migration or developmentSignificant experience using, managing, administering or configuring other supporting technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, VPN, Load Balancing, Storage (SAN/NAS), VMWare, AWSMid-level system and network security fundamentalsFamiliarity with GxP processes a big plusAWS, Zerto or Cloud Endure certifications highly desiredStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document and explain technical details clearly and conciselyEager to learn and improve processesSense of ownership, initiative and responsibility for the overall success of the programGilead Core ValuesIntegrity (Doing What's Right)Inclusion (Encouraging Diversity)Teamwork (Working Together)Excellence (Being Your Best)Accountability (Taking Personal Responsibility)For jobs in the United States:As an equal opportunity employer, Gilead Sciences Inc. is committed to a diverse workforce.
