Recruitment Salary: $31,200 - $40,416

The Administrative Associate II is a supporting member of a work group that handles all accounting functions within the North Carolina National Guard. The Administrative Associate II will be primarily responsible for invoice processing and accounts payable record keeping.

Job duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

Maintaining filing systems for accounting records, travel advances, reimbursements and correspondence. Good file maintenance includes sorting and organizing documents to be filed, filing documents in an orderly and efficient manner, retrieval of files as necessary and follow up on any open or pending items. Due to the nature of the position, the employee serves as an important link with National Guard units and departmental fiscal personnel. The employee must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with military personnel, departmental fiscal staff, and clients/customers. Other duties as assigned to complete administrative services as required by the section.

If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

* Documented experience in general office work (filing, answering phones, writing correspondence)

* Documented experience in at least two of the following Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

* Documented experience in data collection to assimilate and organize printed and electronic information.

* Documented experience in problem solving skills and determination of the appropriate course of action.

* Documented experience facilitating office workflow.

* Documented experience interpreting policy/program information to clients/customers and staff.

MANAGEMENT PREFERENCE:

Knowledge of present and future state Army National Guard force structure.

Documented experience in entry level accounting and processing invoices for payment

Documented knowledge of North Carolina Accounting System and/or CAPTURIS database for utility usage data entry.

Two (2) or more years of documented experience in data entry.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or

an equivalent combination of education and experience.
