We are currently seeking the right person . . . a highly motivated and professional Accounting Manager to function as a Controller/Office Manager blend. . . with the right experience . . . in accounting construction and growth . . . to join us in a key management role at our company headquarters in Raleigh, NC.

We are looking for a seasoned, driven, full-charge Accounting Manager functioning as a controller and office manager blend who will report directly to the owner and play an integral, strategic role in the overall management of the office and financial aspects in the continued growth of our business.We need a smart, self-starter who can keep, decipher, and use the vast amount of accounting, analytics, and financial data we need to help us grow to the next level.

In this key management role, you will be focused on managing the companys bookkeeping, financial records, tax filings, invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, office environment, and other administrative, record keeping, and reporting functions on a timely, reliable, accurate and complete basis (on TRAC) using your experience and skillset as wells as professional management procedures, constant communication and focus on constant improvement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build a results-oriented, positive team culture based on our mission, vision, and values
  • Support growth of our markets, products, work quality, revenue, and profitability
  • Manage the general ledger and daily bookkeeping and accounting entries
  • Manage financial statements, tax filings, and related reporting
  • Manage invoicing, pay apps, SOVs, retainage, collections, and related reporting
  • Manage client records, bid entry, job costing, and related reporting
  • Manage timesheets, commissions, incentives, payroll, tax, and related reporting
  • Supervise record keeping, office facilities, and administrative staff
  • Supervise field equipment schedules, maintenance logs, and office equipment
  • Supervise material POs, inventory schedules, and costs of goods sold
  • Supervise incidental office supplies and purchasing functions
  • Create and manage insightful sales, profitability, and productivity analytics
  • Develop, implement, and support standard operating procedures
  • Demonstrate leadership, character, integrity, accountability, and performance

Qualifications Include:

  • BS/BA Degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience, preferably in a controller role (or similar / more senior role)
  • Experience with construction and commercial contracts, lien waivers, etc. required
  • Well-organized, confident, energetic, responsive, and calm under pressure
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and a sense of accountability
  • Forward-thinking individual with the ability to build value into our business, identify and implement cost savings and have the vision to see and assist in the evaluation of business opportunities for expansion, process improvement, and growth
  • Strong computer skills QuickBooks Pro, MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.), standard constructions industry software (Builders Trend, iSqft, Dodge, etc.), and relevant social and online media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
