Position Information:
The Executive Director, Quality and Patient Safety oversees and is responsible for developing, implementing, supporting, and coaching teams in achieving WakeMed's key aspirational Top 10 goal. Specific accountabilities include developing systems and process to support improvement across the clinical practice of quality and patient safety, endorsing and sharing evidence-based care, implementing high reliability concepts to eliminate errors, risk mitigation, and monitoring compliance in accordance with accreditation/regulatory services. In partnership with senior physician leaders in quality, this position is responsible for all system-wide activities and initiatives relating to patient safety and accreditation and ensures alignment and standardization of programs, policies, and procedures across all WakeMed Enterprises. The position will facilitate 24/7 accreditation readiness throughout the system and direct activities related to improving compliance with standards and alignment of policies and procedures. The position will also collaborate with senior leaders, management, and staff to monitor and trend data and identify areas of need for deployment of resources and program/initiatives to improve patient safety and reduce patient harm with a target of zero preventable harm events.

Experience Requirements:
5 Years Quality Improvement Or Patient Safety Or Risk Management Required

Education Required:
Master's Degree Nursing Or Health Administration Or Related Field Required

Hours of Work:
Generally 40 hours per week
