The Gilead Business Services center in Raleigh's Research Triangle region will be home to some of the company's critical shared service teams in North America, including Information Technology, Global Financial Solutions, HR Operations and Procurement Services Desk. These functions provide the necessary support to ensure Gilead's business runs effectively and efficiently. The center will also be a catalyst for standardization of processes, digital transformation and technology optimization.

TheCompliance Specialistreports to theSeniorManager Data & Analytics, Complianceandis responsible forthe successful execution ofSOX compliance procedures,processcontrols, filing and remittance ofquarterly and annual tax reporting, compliance audits, and reporting.The position will work closely with key team members on the global Purchasing and PTP teams to maximize operational efficiencies, standardization, quality control, and compliancein support of our company's mission.

The focus of the role is to proactivelymanage and drivethe activitieswhich ensure thePurchase to Payteam and our customers, both internal and external, are complying topolicies,procedures,government and/or market legal requirements.Support SOX control reviews and compliance quality checks acrossPTP and as required to support compliance across Global Financial Solutions (GFS)functions(Payroll, RTR, OTC).Effectively managing the perceptions and expectations ofbusiness leaders and senior managementis critical to the success of this role.

**Essential Job Functions:** ****

+ Responsible for SOX andcompliance procedures, and controls related toPurchase to Pay Operations

+ Ensure we are U.S. GAAP and SOX compliant

+ Oversight to complete quarterly and annual filings and remittance ofForm1099's (U.S. Domestic Suppliers),Form1042's (Foreign Suppliers), andForm 592-V's(California Withholding)

+ Provide oversight, governance, and execution on compliance requirements for ForeignSuppliers

+ Provide excellent customer service to resolve inquiries from Gilead's suppliers related to tax withholding andreporting

+ Identify and implement compliance process improvements, and operationalexcellence

+ Perform root-cause analysis on issues, recommendsolutions forimplementation

+ Strengthen controls and compliance via improved internal control and reconciliationprocesses

+ Conduct quality control audits and evaluate work standards to ensure compliance and conformity to policies(ex. Supplier Master Data, Corporate Card, P-Card,Invoice processing,Travel and ExpenseandDisbursements)

+ Work closelywith our data & analytics experts to deploy best in class solutions in the compliancespace

+ Manages andfostersthe relationship with internal and external auditors, and the SOXteam

+ Evaluatesprocess integrity, internal controls, and compliance with the Controller's Manual and allapplicable laws andregulations

+ Ability to influence change and mediate sensitive issues with internal and external businesspartners

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ High School Diploma and 9 Years of relevant operational business process experience,Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting and 5 Yearsof relevant operational business process experienceor a Masters' Degree and 3 Years' Experience

+ Proven Compliance experience with deep knowledge of SOX and internal controlsisrequired

+ AdvancedproficiencywithMicrosoft tools (Excel, Word, Visioand PowerPoint)is required

+ Extensive knowledgewithSAPorotherERP system isrequired

**Preferred Qualifications** **and Experience** **:**

+ Experience working in amultinational orglobal Financeorganization

+ Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry a plus
