The Program Manager for Special Projects oversees all aspects of assigned projects and acts as the lead coordinator between multiple projects to ensure alignment with overall business goals.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

5.     Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain absolute confidentiality.

7.     Advanced computer literacy required with proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word.

8.     Espouses and integrates a philosophy of quality. Sets an example for change and new concepts.

9.     Must be self-motivated and have the ability work independently; a self-starter who is able to produce high quality work with minimal direction.

10.  Typically faces situations that have a variety of interpretations and require careful evaluation.

11.  Typically solves problems by considering courses of action within the framework of company’s goals and standards.

12.  Conscientious and detail-oriented.

13.  Ability to attend various meetings as requested with minimal advanced notice.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.     Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility; Define and track complex projects, often involving multiple departments, companies and third parties.

2.     Prepare and present reports for upper management regarding status of project.

3.     Work directly and coordinate meetings, deadlines and requirements with other departments and vendors to ensure all aspects of each project are completed.

4.     Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of tasks. Lead and direct the work of others.

5.     Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects

6.     Manage multiple projects and teams concurrently.

7.     Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.

8.     Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.

9.     Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.

10.  Establish and maintain the relationship with internal stakeholders and external vendors

11.  Perform risk management to minimize project risks.

12.  Schedule and meet with teams to clarify specific requirements of each project.

13.  Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members

14.  Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs

15.  Draft memos for executive leadership on potential projects, current projects and completed projects.

16.  Other duties as assigned.

 


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

·         Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.

·         Familiarity with telecommunications companies a plus but not required.

·         A wide degree of creativity and problem-solving skills is expected.

·         At least five years of experience in Project Management in telecommunications or technology industry with demonstrated success in project management roles.

·         Experienced in PMbok Standards and Processes (PMP certification a plus).

·         High level of proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications (MS Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Visio)

·         Strong organizational skills and attention to details.

·         Exceptional aptitude with business correspondence, telephone skills, computer expertise including research and data analysis

·         Telecommunications and/or technical implementations experience is a plus

·         Comfortable in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
