The Regional Credit Officer is ultimately responsible for the
credit quality of their assigned regions. Promotes the bank's
growth while protecting asset quality. Reinforces the existing
credit culture through consistent application of policy and sound
decision making. Consults with local lenders to structure loans to
serve the customers' needs while supporting the Bank's credit
philosophy. Assures adherence to the Bank's credit quality
standards. Has lending authority appropriate to experience and
role. Continuously monitors asset quality and addresses changing
circumstances. Interfaces regularly with the Executive Team, the
Chief Credit Officer, Market Presidents, Regional Lenders,
Loan Operations, Special Assets and Accounting.
Works closely with the Regional Executives and the Chief Credit
Officer to provide guidance and oversight for all lenders in their
Serves as a resource and liaison between local lenders and
Corporate for loan policy interpretation, loan structure and
underwriting options to protect the bank while meeting loan
Seeks to maintain an acceptable turn-around time on all loans to
sustain our reputation as a service-oriented and personable
Coaches and trains others to develop their knowledge and ability
to perform to standard.
Reviews, analyzes and approves loans within their loan
Provides a thorough analysis and recommendations to the Chief
Credit Officer on loans in excess of their loan authority.
Monitors the mix of the Regions' portfolio and constantly
assesses and monitors local economy.
Serves as a member of their regions' Asset Quality Committees to
monitor loan quality and provides input for asset disposition to
Chief Credit Officer.
Monitors delinquent loans weekly to assure lenders are working
past due loans and provides guidance to Special Assets.
Reviews borrower financial trends, economic and industry
changes, and delinquency reports to identify potential changes in
Conducts in-depth post-mortems on random sampling of loans to
identify opportunities for improvement.
Reinforces the Bank's commitment to sustaining a quality
Maintains a thorough knowledge of all American National Bank
products, services, procedures, policies and appropriate regulatory
issues relating to daily job functions including but not limited
to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy; Fair Lending; Regulation E; deposit,
transaction and loan accounts.
Extensive knowledge of sound credit underwriting and loan
Highly analytical and able to identify and mitigate risks.
Ability to review large quantities of information and glean the
critical factors necessary for decision-making.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
5 plus years as a Commercial lender.
5 plus years in Credit Administration, underwriting.
