It all begins with you. --Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. -- Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. -- We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.The Wholesale Integrated Process Risk and Control (IPRC) team is responsible for enabling the Wholesale Lines of Business (LOBs) to effectively design, implement, and execute -- the IPRC program, which include the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) programs. -- Wholesale IPRC works closely with the Wholesale Business Process Management (WBPM) and Enterprise Business Process Management (EBPM) teams to ensure that Wholesale control teams execute the IPRC deliverables associated with the BPM/IPRC factory. -- The IPRC program is a critical tool for identifying and managing risk across key business processes. --Wholesale IPRC team has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, forward-thinking Operational Risk Consultant (ORC). The ORC5 will focus on executing an IPRC post-sprint framework, which includes successful ------hand-off------ between the IPRC program and our associated downstream programmatic customers ------ including Self Assurance (SA), Testing & Validation (T&V), and Issues Management (IM). -- The ORC5 will work closely with the Wholesale IPRC Program Design team to design and deploy routines to enable a robust post-sprint IPRC process. -- The ORC will also work closely with Wholesale Enterprise Global Services (EGS) support team to ensure that Wholesale Control provides (and executes against) a supporting post-sprint infrastructure, including supporting data reports, tracking/monitoring activities, and workflows. --Key responsibilities/accountabilities associated with the role include:

  • Deploy and execute a consistent methodology for ensuring that gaps/issues identified during IPRC sprints are triaged, tracked and resolved
  • Deliver clear, consistent guidance to LOB Business Control teams, process SMEs, and other stakeholders on the direction, purpose, and tactical components of the IPRC post-sprint framework
  • Collaborate with Self Assurance, Testing & Validation, Issues Management, and other stakeholder groups to ensure that critical IPRC outputs are incorporated into their respective programs
  • Develop an effective working partnership with the Wholesale IPRC Enterprise Global Services (EGS) support team in order to execute key post-sprint programmatic activities
  • Partner with the Wholesale IPRC Process Design team to continuously identify opportunities to enhance the IPRC post-sprint process
  • Respond to post-sprint challenges escalated by the Wholesale Business Control teams, and drive solutionsIn this role, the ORC5 is generally recognized as an industry or subject matter expert in operational risk, and is expected to be well-versed in business process management, self-assurance, testing and validation, and/or issues management.Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to and if applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit------s risk appetite, and all risk and compliance program requirements.

    Required Qualifications
    • 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

      • Ability to identify risk factors and ensure enactment of appropriate controls
      • Strong relationship management skills
      • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
      • Program management experience

        • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and attention to detail and quality deliverables
        • In-depth knowledge of Wholesale Banking processes and operating requirements at a large, complex, and globally-diverse financial institution
        • Ability to leverage creative thinking and problem solving skills to facilitate decisions to ensure project outcomes result in expected business value.
        • Ability to analyze data and connect the dots, making recommendations to management and the project teams in a timely manner
        • Demonstrated core competencies in Wholesale Banking and Risk Management, Change Management, Project Management, and Process Improvement

          Job Expectations
          • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

            The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
