The MetLife Group Benefits Sales and Underwriting team is looking for an experienced Sr. Software Development Engineer in a full stack developer capacity. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will be a full-stack developer on a fast-paced, Agile delivery team building and deploying systems that are leveraging modern, cutting edge design and integrations across the entire software stack. We are looking for energetic and motivated system development engineers who are forward-focused, not afraid of experimentation, and a team player. In this role, you will be responsible for working with Business and Technical teams to develop features and user stories, code, review test plans develop scripts for test automation. Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzing, designing and driving solutions for major components and features
• Design and implement solutions that are highly available, scalable and self-healing
• Responsible for ensuring that quality standards are met by both onshore and offshore teams.
• Will manage and oversee the successful completion of technical deliverables including the detailed technical design, software development and unit testing process.
• Project leadership, relationship building, stakeholder management, vendor resource oversight.
• Ensuring secure, high code quality across project deliverables.
• Working with cross-functional teams for delivery Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
  
  Required:
  • Bachelor's degree required, major in related field like CS, CIS/MIS, engineering preferred
  • Strong hands-on experience with distributed technologies .net, Java/Jscript, Angular, Web services
  • Stakeholder management including interfacing to senior management
  • Ability to build, deliver and operate complex applications
  • Proficiency with various database technologies and solutions, including both SQL and NoSQL
  • 5+ years' experience in Software Development and strong technical experience with building distributed platforms
  • Proven CI/CD Agile, DevOps/Lean experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with focused attention to details, as well as, demonstrated professionalism and time/task management skills
  • Strong Software Development Life Cycle knowledge and experience, or comparable methodologies Preferred:
    • Must be a passionate, driven individual, capable of interacting with the business and managing development execution while contributing hands-on coding and debugging
    • Experience with Java/J2EE for Web Application Development
    • Design experience utilizing Use Cases, Features, and User Stories
    • Experience working in Waterfall and Agile/DevOps environment
    • Experience working with offshore software development and third party vendors
    • Exposure to Microsoft Azure tools
    • SAFe certification Travel

      The wage range for applicants for this position is the more specific figure (for example (only): $80,000) or range within which the hiring manager reasonably expects to hire (for example (only): $70,000 - $85,000) . The role is eligible for incentive compensation under the sales incentive plan for your position.
