Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM's CIO organization is currently seeking a Full Stack Developer with strong motivation and experience for working in a delivery environment that supports sales-critical applications in the Distributed Software Commerce (DSWC) Development and Delivery team based out of Research Triangle Park, NC.



As a member in our squad, you will be part of the team that evolves, enhances and supports cloud-based, 24x7-available commerce applications which enable ordering of IBM's software offerings; our users are direct Customers, IBM Sellers, IBM Business Partners and internal stakeholders. You will consult on technical aspect of user stories, develop new functionality and enhancements with integrated testing automation and provide support of the application-level operations the we build.



The DSWC US team plays a significant role in supporting critical processes and function that support IBM's ability to enable and support all aspects of software product order flows, configure provisioning of ordered products, provide critical account and order information to IBM's Customers, among other key capabilities. In this fast-paced and expanding organization, we foster an environment of continuous innovation and working in Agile teams. We are strategically co-located in RTP, NC but also consider that "work is a function, not a location." For any planned on-site activities, IBM maintains a responsible consideration of health and safety practices - which includes on-site protocols and ongoing support for in-office/remote office balance.



This is an important technical role that will require participation in an evolving culture that is designed to deliver solutions continually.





Required Technical and Professional Expertise

2+ years relevant professional work experience, including development and some test integration

Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, SQL

Proficient with modern DevOps in your development role

Commitment to delivering great software and releasing it quickly, efficiently and with increasing quality

Be a strong advocate for our users and enhancing their experiences with our products

BS degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience







Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

UI development experience

Proficiency in React, Vue and/or Angular frameworks

Experience creating backend systems/services (microservices, REST)

Basic knowledge of cloud environments

Basic knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker)

Basic knowledge of interfacing with monolithic systems (e.g., Websphere, SAP)

Proficient with RDBs and interfacing with DB2 systems

Experience with Agile development processes

Experience with Design Thinking Methodology
