Post Date: 4/24/2023Job SummaryAs a key member of the human
resource team, the HR Director oversees the daily workflow of the
department and will serve as an employee advocate, change agent,
and diversity, equity, and inclusion champion.
We are seeking an experienced HR Director that will be responsible
for providing HR leadership to the human resources team and serve
as the primary contact for employee relations while supporting
employees throughout the employee lifecycle. The HR Director will
report directly to the Chief Human Resources officer and manage the
Talent Acquisition Specialist and HR Generalist.
The HR Director is a hybrid position NOT a fully remote position.
The individual MUST reside within North Carolina.
Day in the life:
Provide HR leadership and guidance to the HR team while overseeing
the day-to-day operations of the HR department including position
classification, recruitment, onboarding, performance management,
and compliance.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations by
providing support and guidance to employees and managers when
complex, specialized, and sensitive questions arise.
Oversee and guide the recruitment team to develop strategies to
enhance talent acquisition and retention efforts across the
Council.
Oversee and manage the performance management process to maximize
the retention of high-performing employees.
Serve as a strategic business advisor to the CHRO regarding
operational efficiencies and HR policies while ensuring HR
compliance.
Coach and define goals for HR team members while managing results
and delivering regular feedback for success.
Demonstrate solid interpersonal relations and a problem-solving
approach while prioritizing time and implementing continuous
learning for the HR Team.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
and regulations, recommend best practices, and maintain high
confidentiality in all responsibilities.
Job QualificationsBA/BS in a human-resources-related field.
SHRM or HRCI certification required.
Minimum of 5 years of direct HR experience as HR
Generalist/Consultant or relevant human resource role
Extensive experience creating and reviewing HR policies and
employee relations.
Extensive experience interpreting and applying federal, state, and
local labor and employment laws.
Self-starter with the ability to research HR policies and best
practices and make recommendations based on findings.
Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and prioritize
work.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
Proven track record of implementing, managing, and solutioning key
HR deliverables.
Able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of strategic workforce
planning, talent management/ development and change management
Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making
skills combined with influencing and negotiation
