Job Summary
The Human Resources Specialist (HRS) will support all operations
and administrative Human Resources functions for a busy restaurant
group in both English and Spanish. Serving as the HR liaison to
staff for all administrative and operational Human Resources
workflow and processes including but not limited to: all HRIS data
oversight, input, reporting in the HR system (UKG Workforce Ready),
benefit enrollments and terminations, serve as the point of contact
communication for hiring managers in regards to posting jobs,
scheduling interviews, onboarding employees, maintaining employee
HR files, and supporting all HR operational workflows. All work
will be directed by the CEO. This position is responsible for HR
record keeping and adhering to HR compliance and operating
standards. This role requires impeccable attention to detail,
adherence to timelines, and a sense of urgency. e focused best
practices. The HRS is responsible for day-to-day activities in the
company's HRIS system UKG data integrity, new hire onboarding and
benefits enrollment and all HR operations requests. This position
requires a high level of confidentiality and ethics. The role
utilizes a variety of software products, internal processes,
compliance, risk mitigation, and all associated reporting.
Dedicated to supporting overall Human Resources function as
needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain UKG with all new hires, terminations, compensation
changes, benefits eligibility, employees pay, demographic, and
position changes
- Enter all payroll, demographic, and status changes into
Workforce Ready
- Lead recruiting process, including coordinating and scheduling
interviews
- Manage new hire paperwork, including E-Verify process
- Onboard and orient all new staff to company policies
- Assists with administration company sponsored benefits
- Partner with the CEO on the ongoing administration of HRIS,
Workforce Ready
- Deliver clear written and spoken HR communications for all
staff as needed
- Serve as the main HR point of contact for Spanish speaking
staff, candidates, and vendors
- Assists in clear and timely communication to staff and
management
- Document HR operational workflows utilizing HR best practices
and procedures
- Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments,
changes and terminations. Processes required documents through
payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping
and proper deductions.
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee
requests and questions.
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains
I-9 files
- Reconcile benefits statements
- Assist employees with UKG Employee Portal for items such as:
PTO request, time cards, demographic changes including updating tax
forms, address changes, and general system navigation
- Assists with system processing of terminations
- Serve as main point of contact for managers for posting
positions and beginning the recruiting process
- Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status
of candidates in UKG Talent Module and manage all communications
with candidates throughout the recruiting process
- Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the director
of HR.
- Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and
performs other clerical functions
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested
- Prepares new-employee files and files and maintains all HR
related documents in appropriate employee files
- Processes unemployment mail
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be fluent in both English and Spanish
- Minimum two (2) years of Human Resources work experience
- Previous experience as a super user in a HRIS, prefer UKG

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Preferred Skills
- Recognized Human Resources certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality group
- Previous experience in an office environment
