Fitness Center Staff/Personal Trainer

Experience and knowledge of various fitness equipment
Provide member service though: interacting with members, assisting
with spotting, educating members on how to use equipment, and
Teaching members and guest's basic equipment set up.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized fitness floor by re-racking
weights, picking up towels and/or trash, refilling sanitizing wipe
containers, and noting any needs of equipment repair. Report
equipment issues to the Fitness Director.
Disinfect and clean equipment.
Reporting complaints, ensuring members are signing in, maintaining
equipment maintenance records, and enforcing rules and regulations
Actively supervise the fitness center.
Circulate fitness floor at least once every 15-20 minutes and
assist members in safe and effective exercise form.
Perform opening/closing procedures of the fitness center.
Attend all mandatory staff meetings, and professional development
courses deemed necessary by the Fitness Director.
Must be available to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Minimum floor shift requirement based on weekly personal training
Responsible for being punctual for scheduled shifts. A nametag must
be worn during personal training sessions, fitness floor shifts,
and any time during scheduled shifts.
Always represent the Fitness Center in a positive & professional
manner. Introduce yourself, greet members by first name, smile,
engage in conversation, answer questions, and book
Promote the personal training program during fitness floor shifts
and contacting interested members within 24 hours of receiving a
Maintain a client base by selling new packages and encouraging
current clients to continue. Assist in development and
implementation of new programing, events, and classes.
Develop safe and effective exercise programs utilizing progression;
programs are consistent with member's goals/needs and within the
scope of your education and knowledge your currently possess.
Maintain up-to-date client records and accountability for tracking
pending client appointments.
When personal training during your scheduled fitness floor shift,
training must be done within the Fitness Center or on building
property and may only be done for up to 10 hours of your weekly
scheduled shift. *These hours can be adjusted if job duties and
responsibilities are being met and adhered to*
Lead group fitness classes
Perform member orientations, evaluate health history, conduct
assessments, demonstrate equipment usage, and develop a safe,
effective workout plan.
Encourage members to participate in program offerings: For example:
small group and/or semiprivate training classes, Group Exercise
classes, and adult/youth programing. Keep up to date on current
Enforce all Fitness Center rules and policies.
Nationally accredited training certification (ACSM, NASM, NSCA,
ACE) and/or a degree in health, wellness, and/or fitness-related
Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid
Experience in the health and fitness industry
Experience a point-of-sale software program.
Skills and Knowledge:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to be trained in any
Must possess up-to-date knowledge of fitness protocols.
Must be able to work in a busy environment.
Must be willing to work weekend shifts and a variety of weekday
shifts that may include mornings, and/or nights.
Position calls for sitting, standing, and walking throughout the
