Job Description:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.--DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs benefits administration for benefits programs such as health, dental, life and disability insurances, 401k plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance including, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employeesResponds to inquiries regarding benefits, policies, procedures, and programsWorks with Line Managers on employee relations matters and provides support and counselingMaintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and benefits to ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in complianceKeeps electronic records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminationsAdministers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organizationPerforms administrative duties in support of the Human Resources departmentMaintains repository for all job descriptionsMaintains human capital system (HCM) records and compiles reportsPerforms new hire orientation and exit interviewsCoordinate checking references, background checks, and initiating drug screening for potential employees (and contractors if applicable)Responsible for onboarding including sending necessary onboarding documents to new employees and contractorsCoordinates all new hire notifications to inform business units & management teamsMINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors' degree in HR Management /Business Administration or related field or Human Resources work equivalent experiencePHR, SPHR. preferredExcellent inter-personal skills, communication and organizational skillsGood computer skills including Microsoft Office, knowledge of data base management, and Human Capital Management systemsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Possesses superb written and spoken--communication skillsExcellent--interpersonal relationship building and--employee coaching skillsProblem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topicsAbility to work individually and as part of a project team, meet deadlines & take instruction from multiple individualsAbility to assess, coordinate, and organize/reorganize workload of multiple projects in accordance with project/assignments and timelines with focus on executionDemonstrates accuracy and thoroughnessEthics - Treats people with respect; Keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others; Works with integrity and ethically; Upholds organizational valuesJudgment - Displays willingness to make decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely decisionsProfessionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitmentsDependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.Confidentiality- able to use sound judgment in areas of confidential mattersCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:Verification of educational requirements, employment history, professional references, and certifications/training.WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environmentWe are committed to diversity in the workplace and are an equal opportunity employer.
