Nutrition & Allergy Dining Associate - FALL 2022
Campus Enterprises Mission: Campus Enterprises is NC State's division of retail and hospitality organizations. Each department is dedicated to providing service excellence, value and enrichment of the student experience in support of academic success.
Purpose: Provide vital support to Campus Enterprises and NC State Dining by providing an excellent dining experience for all guests.
Location: Fountain Dining Hall
Compensation: $10.75/hr (Tier 2) with opportunity for raises based on years of service within Campus Enterprises.
Essential functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work in an energetic environment to prep, serve and restock food items at Fountain Dining Hall's Simply Made allergy friendly station
  • Work directly with NC State Dining's registered dietitian to develop an understanding of various dietary restrictions and how to provide balanced meals for all guests.
  • Under the direction of culinary staff, prepare small batch cooking in a high volume food service operation
  • Actively participate in training to learn how to produce food following detailed, standardized recipes
  • Participate in nutrition & allergy meetings with NC State Dining's registered dietitian to build a deeper understanding of the importance of allergy friendly fare.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of food safety, food allergies, and the prevention of cross contact.
  • Help maintain temperature and sanitation to ensure food safety
  • Contribute to maintaining a Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or better
  • Provide excellent customer service to all guests
  • Assist with weekly and monthly cleaning of the kitchen and production area Essential Qualifications:
    • Current NC State University student with a flexible schedule
    • Nutrition, Food Science, or related major preferred
    • Ability to work with a team to serve a diverse population
    • Ability to read and follow both written and verbal instructions
    • Work with a sense of urgency, always be timely
    • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
    • Must attend mandatory student employee orientation and training sessions
