Pay: $1,858 to $1,876 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with TalentBurst, Inc. to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, 27101! JOB DESCRIPTION RN - MedSurg/Tele About Facility: 1 Medical Center Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC 27157 885 licensed beds Level 1 Trauma Designation Teaching Hospital: Yes, Academic Medical Center Chest Pain Center Stroke Center Unit Information: 5C Beds: 10 Census? Average patients/day? 8 Minimum Years of Experience required: 1 year Med/Tele experience Will you accept a first-time traveler? Travel experience preferred Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Variety of MedSurg: DM (no insulin gtts), Respiratory illnesses, GI illnesses, Neuro sx, Trauma sx, spinal precautions Cardiac and CT surgery – pre-CT surgery (CABG), Cath lab patients (clean Cath) – will manage TR bands Patient Ratios: RN: 1:5 CNA: 1:10 Required Licensure & Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Skills required: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, PCA pumps, all types of surgical drains, wound care, TR Bands Gtts that traveler will manage: Cardizem, Nitro and Amio – must be comfortable to learn Support within the Department: CNA: Supports the RN by obtaining VS and blood glucose checks; assists with hourly safety rounds and ADLs. Receptionist/HUC Charge nurse – free floating. On occasion, may have a full assignment Phlebotomy? Yes, peripheral blood draws IV/VAT Team? No, we start our own IVs. RT 24/7? Yes, available – will need to page for assistance when needed Hospitalist 24/7 Intensivist 24/7 Telemetry monitoring/tech? Telemetry monitors by bedside – RN will read and interpret cardiac strips Technology/Equipment: EMR: Epic IV Pump: Alaris Med dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: No monitors in the rooms. Unit specific equipment: External fixators, chest tubes, PCAs, trachs, complex wound care Orientation (facility and unit): NEO 2 days departmental Other notes: Scrub Color: Royal Blue Parking: Free?
