rhythm interpretation Description: This position is for a
Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry.
The unit consists of a 40-bed capacity with an average daily census
of 34 patients. Patients typically include those with hematology
and oncology diagnoses, such as leukemia. The role entails
providing symptom management and comfort care at the end of life.
The patient-to-nurse ratio is approximately 1:4-5, depending on
patient acuity. The facility is a Level 1 Trauma Designation and
also serves as a teaching hospital. Support staff includes CNAs for
vital signs collection and assistance with activities of daily
living. A receptionist is available daily for support during peak
hours. Designated charge nurses are present on day shifts, with
additional support from phlebotomy and IV teams. Telemetry
monitoring is centralized, and RNs are responsible for verifying
strips each shift. Nurses may float within the cancer center or to
any medical-surgical unit in the facility during emergencies.
Scheduling includes weekend rotations every other week with holiday
commitments. Travelers are expected to work approximately 75% of
holidays. Shifts typically run from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. The work
environment values skilled practitioners who can provide
