working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Ortho RN
in Winston Salem, North Carolina, 27103! Job Title: Registered
Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of
experience; Must have orthopedic experience License: Required
Certifications: BCLS, NIH Must-Have: Epic experience, IV Start, and
Telemetry Description: Cross posting after booking is not allowed.
Any call offs or additional time off on the unit could possibly
result in a cancelation. Holiday time off cannot be approved. The
unit will accept first-time travelers with Epic experience. Locals
are accepted. Expect a patient ratio of 5-6:1, with potential for
flexing to 7:1 in extreme cases. The unit will accept contracts for
13 weeks. Shifts consist of 12-hour days. 36 or 48 hours can be
offered, with no overtime until after 48 hours. Travelers are
required to float to any other medical-surgical unit in the
facility based on staffing needs. Every other weekend is required.
Staff is expected to make up any missed weekend shifts. The patient
population includes orthopedic, neuro spine, medical-surgical, and
post-surgical patients. Patients may include COVID-19 positive
individuals, unless their condition requires ICU care. This is a
fast-paced unit focusing on orthopedic and spine patients. Nurses
must manage pain effectively for a high post-surgical population.
Scheduling options include block scheduling. All candidates must
pass EKG testing prior to starting for this specialty. Travelers
cannot work more than five consecutive days or exceed 60 hours in a
week. Modules must be completed prior to the start and annually,
varying by specialty. Candidates will be reviewed directly through
unit channels. Any previous staff employees must wait 12 months
before applying as travelers. Candidates currently in a travel Per
Diem role must choose either travel Per Diem or a travel contract.
Candidates must be comfortable with floating within the facility.
References are required at the time of the start. Severe fatigue
policies are in place to ensure proper rest for travelers. 5
