Full-time board-certified or board-eligible general ophthalmologist position Medical retina expertise preferred Interest in resident education and program development encouraged Tertiary referral setting with high patient volume and complex ophthalmic conditions Active recruitment across all ophthalmology subspecialties Newly approved ophthalmology residency program launching summer 2026 Requires completion of U.S. residency or fellowship training Role includes clinical practice, teaching responsibilities, and rotating call Opportunities for research participation Employment through a physician group within an academic health system Academic appointment available at assistant or associate professor level Modern outpatient clinic equipped with advanced technology Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package Eligible offerings may include relocation support, loan repayment, sign-on bonus, and paid commitment stipends Located inland off of the North Carolina coast, 45 miles east of interstate 95, just over an hour to Raleigh, a little over an hour to the pristine beaches of the Crystal Coast of NC.
