Title: Neurodiagnostic Technologist II Profession: Neurodiagnostic
Specialty: None Duration: Temporary to Permanent Shift: Nights
Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Requires completion of an
acceptable program of Neurophysiology or two years of experience
performing a variety of Sleep or Neurodiagnostics procedures.
License: EEG Registered Certifications: Registry eligible for one
of the following specialty areas: EEG, EP, Intra-Operative
Monitoring, Nerve Conduction Velocity studies, Polysomnography,
Registered Sleep Technologist, BLS. Must-Have: High School Diploma
if not graduated from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology.
Description: May provide instruction and guidance to other
technologists in the Neurodiagnostic and/or Sleep Disorders Lab.
Performs diagnostic patient testing including electroencephalogram
(EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocities (NCV),
sensory evoked potentials (EP), and polysomnographic testing with
possible oxygen therapy and continuous positive airway pressure
treatments (CPAP). Performs room and equipment setup and placement
in hospital rooms, operating rooms, or clinics. Calibrates and
maintains equipment. Reads and scores neurodiagnostic and/or
polysomnographic tests. Takes patient histories. Instructs patients
and families on test preparation, pre-test interviews, and
follow-up appointments. Variable schedule includes three shifts of
twelve hours each, with hours ranging from 7 PM to 7:30 AM or 7 AM
to 7:30 PM. Requirements Required for Onboarding BLS Skills
