Registered Nurse (RN) | Neuro Location: Winston Salem, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,930 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years with 1 year of direct MedSurg experience. License: Active Nursing License required. Certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS, ACLS (preferred, not required). Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including 1 year in medical-surgical settings. - Traveler experience: Must have at least 2 successful contracts before applying. - Must have Med/Surg experience; specific MedSurg experience required. - Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty. Description: The position requires the management of patients primarily with neurological diagnoses. The team cares for stroke patients and those with potential neurosurgery needs. Patient diagnoses may include epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and more. Staffing ratios are 1 nurse to 6 patients. The unit will accept both 36-hour and 48-hour contracts. Floating is required to other medical-surgical and telemetry areas, which may include COVID care units. Frequent floating may be necessary based on unit needs. The expected patient census is around 42, with the unit featuring a 4-bed epilepsy monitoring unit. Staff will utilize electronic health records for documentation and medication management. The care environment promotes interdisciplinary support from various healthcare professionals. All travelers are required to work every other weekend. Working in a multi-diagnosis unit requires flexibility and adaptability in providing care. A focus on symptom management and immediate intervention for neurological emergencies is essential. The role includes monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing patient education. Successful candidates must demonstrate proficiency in essential nursing skills, including IV therapy and telemetry monitoring. Compliance with facility protocols regarding time off and holiday coverage is necessary. All staff members are expected to adhere to a fatigue policy that limits work hours per week.
