Job Title: Client Fetal Ultrasound Technician Profession: Client Fetal Ultrasound Tech Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36.00 Experience: Three (3) years of experience performing complex ob/gyn or vascular scans License: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification Certifications: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Registered in OB, OB GYN Must-Have: Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification Description: Assists the radiologist in performing invasive diagnostic techniques specialized to maternal fetal ultrasound processes. Provides standardization and training to residents regarding these exams. Consults with patients and evaluates any contraindications, such as medications or insufficient patient preparation. Performs ultrasound procedures under general or direct supervision, as defined by the procedure and/or physician. Conducts essential maternal-fetal ultrasound examinations, including detailed anatomical evaluation and complete fetal echocardiograms. Performs growth assessments and evaluates fetal wellbeing, including biophysical profiles and maternal/fetal Doppler assessments. Guides needle procedures and examines maternal pelvic anatomy including transvaginal cervical assessments. Conducts ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and records anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for physician interpretation. Assists the supervising physician with invasive procedures as required. Analyzes sonography findings throughout the course of the examination. Recognizes situations or abnormalities that require direct observation by the radiologist. Images structures while obtaining Doppler signals and recording images along with patient information for interpretation. Advises the radiologist or referring provider of examination results and provides preliminary diagnostic evaluations of maternal-fetal scans.
