Job Description & Requirements - Specialty:Orthopedics - Discipline:RN - Start Date:07/22/2025 - Duration:13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift:12 hours, nights - Employment Type:Travel Registered Nurse – Orthopedics Facility:Cone Health – The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital Location:Greensboro, NC Start Date:07/22/2025 Duration:13 Weeks Shift:Nights (3x12-Hour, 19:00–07:00) Weekend Rotation:Every Other Weekend Holiday Rotation:Required Job Overview: 5 North is a32-bed Orthopedic Unitspecializing intotal joint replacements (hips, knees, shoulders), orthopedic trauma, and post-surgical carefor adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The unit utilizes specialized orthopedic equipment (CPM machines, knee immobilizers, bone foam, etc.). Key Responsibilities: - Provide care for1:6–7 patient ratio(may stretch to 1:7 based on census). - Skills/Procedures: - Pre-op/post-op orthopedic care (elective & trauma cases). - Management of peripheral nerve blocks, surgical drains, wound vacs. - Telemetry monitoring (remote/on-unit), rapid response team activation. - Safe patient handling with mobility limitations. - Charting:Epic EMR (required). - Floating:Required to other Cone Health campuses as needed. Requirements & Qualifications: Mandatory: - Active RN license(in hand at submission). - Certifications:BLS. - Experience: - 2 yearsoforthopedic and trauma experience(no first-time travelers). - Epic proficiency(required). - Telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation. Preferred: - Certifications: ACLS. - Trauma Level I/II or teaching hospital experience. - Skills: Chest tube management, tracheostomy care, insulin/heparin protocols. Local Candidates: Not accepted within a 50-mile radius.
