  • CME (Continuing Medical Education)About Position: The primary responsibility of the Certified Nursing Assistant is to check vital signs on participants and prepare them for provider visits and to perform other tasks as assigned including clerical tasks in support of clinic operations. Supports patient care primarily within the clinic of the Adult Day Health Center.
    • Work Location: 163 Chatham Business Dr, Pittsboro, NC 27312
    • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
    • Travel: As neededDuties/ Responsibilities -
      • Provide basic nursing care to assigned participants, including tasks such as, but not limited to: toileting, pressure relief and skin care.
      • Assists with meeting patient care needs within scope of practice. Helps ensure that all participants on triage list are seen.
      • Assists in the collection of vital signs, weights and blood glucose checks.
      • Assist in quality control by performing daily quality control checks, assists in the sterilization of instruments within the clinic, sanitation of participant exam rooms after each patient use, as well as vital sign machines.
      • Provide other support as assigned within the clinic such as answering ringing phones, faxing or scanning documents, obtaining participants and bringing them back to the clinic to be seen
      • Assists in the coordination of compression hose (obtaining authorization number and dissemination to nursing) in clinic for distribution to the participant.
      • Communicate effectively with participants, family, staff, agencies and other departments within PHS.
      • Work effectively in a team setting.
      • Document assistance, observations, services and patient activities.
      • Participates in teaching/learning process with others.
      • Follows guest relations policies and procedures.
      • Abides by all established SeniorCare policies, rules and regulations.
      • Communicates any changes in participant condition to team members.Qualifications -Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of Nurse's Aide, Home Health Aid or equivalent training course.Required: Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted. Requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift. Requires exposure to communicable diseases and/or bodily fluids.
        • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
        • Must be able to provide assistance and services to people of all ages, including geriatrics.
        • Act only within the scope of his/her authority to practice.
        • Must meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by PHSC and approved by CMS before working independently.Preferred: One year of experience with the frail or elderly preferred.Current/valid License: Certified Nursing Assistant I or certified within 90 days of employment.
