U.S. News & World Report ranked Duke Raleigh Hospital as high performing in orthopedics and five adult procedures/conditions: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart failure, kidney failure, lung cancer surgery, and stroke. -Emergency Dept Tech II - CNA or EMT - Duke Raleigh Hospital - Emergency Services - Full Time -***ED Tech joining the Duke Health System after 10/1/22, are eligible for a $5000 sign on bonus*** -What you will do:Participate in patient care interventions and personal care procedures for patients. Perform approved dressings and wound care for NCA level; participate in nutritional activities; assist with personal hygiene; assist with ambulation; assist with bowel and bladder elimination; provide such additional care as required to meet the personal needs and comfort of assigned patients.Perform CPR.Function as patient attendant for patients who have been identified as high risk for injury or suicide.Collect, deliver and conduct routine tests on patient specimens.Maintain readiness of HAZMAT Room. Provide assistance during hazmat decontamination procedures.Perform a variety of EKG technician tasks as required, to include: routine and STAT EKGs, order verification and electronic transmission of EKGs, accommodation of special EKG requests, i.e., with or without magnet or right sided EKG tracings, the stocking and maintenance of EKG machines, and the retrieval of old EKGs from the Heart Station.Perform a variety of Health Unit Coordinator (EDUC) tasks. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. -What you will need:EducationWork requires graduation from an accredited high school or a GED.
