National Director will recruit, lead, coach and manage the
Reimbursement Access Managers. This team is responsible for
ensuring optimal provider and patient access, effective
pull-through of reimbursement services and program support along
with patient affordability programs as it relates to Merz
Therapeutics product portfolio.They will have demonstrated
individual success in reimbursement expertise, including
interpretation of coverage, coding and payment policies in order to
lead a high-performance RAM team with a national footprint. Other
areas of focus will include but not be limited to:
- Provide leadership oversight and management of vendor
relationships across HUB services and ensuring compliant
implementation of patient affordability programs while monitoring
program goals and key performance indicators.
- Establish analytic rigor to the patient support services
channel and assist the commercial business in driving data driven
decisions based on vendor reporting and performance metric
dashboards.
- Engage with external access/reimbursement experts within
industry to continually gain insights of emerging opportunities
that will drive innovation and program enhancements to optimize
customer service and patient access to therapies.
- Build and develop productive working relationships with field
based business partners and internal cross-functional stakeholders
such as marketing, finance, legal and compliance.Major
dutiesDescriptionLeadership of RAM TeamStrategically coach RAMs to
ensure they are delivering information that facilitates patient
access to and appropriate reimbursement of Merz products. Monitor
RAM adoption of HUB services and patient support programs at the
practice level to support patient compliance to therapy. Identify
areas of training to continue to elevate individual and team
business acumen and competency within the access and reimbursement
landscape. Train to a skill set that facilitates a "lead from
behind" mentality in workingclosely with TBM counterparts to
maximize efforts with customers. Hold team accountable to Merz
values and operating norms.Marketing CollaborationProvide insight
in the development of the marketing tools and resources necessary
to support the RAM team discussions with practices to ensure they
are aware of our HUB services, patient affordability programs,
product access levels across payer channels, enhanced product
access within specific markets including support of practice and
patient portals in tangent with external vendors.Vendor
ManagementOversight of daily operations of all reimbursement HUB
programs and patient affordability programs ensuring appropriate
service levels to all customers. Propose solutions and
recommendations for improvements. Communicate regularly with
marketing, finance and sales management so all opportunities/issues
are addressed in a timely manner. Perform site visits to regularly
review vendor activity and performance metrics, call center
activity and to optimize relationships with vendors.Field Sales
CollaborationEstablish expectations for working in close
collaboration with Regional Sales Directors to facilitate ongoing
feedback of RAM team performance in support of aligned customers
across TBMs and KADs. Monthly communication to support efficient
use of RAM time, customer routing, local market access challenges
and opportunities to support field sales to a greater level.Current
CMS TrendsMonitor Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
reimbursement policiesand keep abreast of trends in reimbursement
and health policy that affect Merz' products and the markets in
which they compete.MBO ReportingEstablish measurable performance
parameters and monitor individual RAM activity against those key
metrics. Responsible for quarterly reporting of MBO performance
ofteam requiring documentation, scoring and individual RAM
conversations to support payout levels.Training & DevelopmentEnsure
team is trained to fully support all reimbursement and
patient/payer support programs offered by Merz and that customers
view these programs as the best in class. Lead content and
facilitation of training during the Midyear and National sales
meetings. Work closely with VP, Market Access and Sales Training to
provide relevant workshopsto ensure the RAMs are seen as the most
knowledgeable team in industry as it pertains to Merz defined
therapeutic areas.Internal Business Partner CollaborationHigh touch
points with Commercial Analytics, Finance, Compliance and Legal are
required to ensure appropriate oversight of revenue management,
Veeva reporting, appropriate use of programs and resources and
compliant interaction of the RAM team with customers.Payer
LandscapeRequire RAM team to have optimal knowledge of coverage
landscape as defined by customer base within aligned geography.
Work closely with National Account Director team to stay current
with changes and/or hurdles that could impact access to
productportfolio. Support local market diagnostics of NAD team when
developing category management strategies.Education- Bachelor's
degree or relevant work experiencePreferredProfessional experience-
Minimum of 5 -7 years in managing a high-performance team combined
with experience in billing, coding, practice management, and/or
pharmaceutical reimbursement support.RequiredKnowledge, skills and
abilities (incl. languages)- Demonstrated ability to build
organizational capability and deep experience developing
andmanaging manufacturer HUB operations or specialty drug patient
services/call center.Required- Excellent collaboration skills,
critical thinking, and a high level of competence in product
reimbursement (coverage, coding and payment) for pharmaceutical
products (including specialty pharmaceuticals), patient
confidentiality and product access requirements.Required-
Successful leadership, project management, and presentation skills,
including proven ability to manage through a "highly matrix"
environment.Required- Proactive, results oriented, self-starter
with demonstrated proven experience in a reimbursement
environment.Required- Ability to interpret and integrate business
strategies into actionable patient access initiatives.RequiredDon't
