Job Description Description: The Member Business Lending Credit
Manager is responsible for the entire credit granting process,
including the consistent application of credit policy, and periodic
credit reviews of existing members. The person successful in the
role must ensure the financial institution's credit granting
policies are being closely followed, without showing favoritism or
discrimination. Develop credit products, including the assessment
of the creditworthiness of potential members, with the goal of
optimizing the mix of sales and bad debt losses. The Member
Business Lending Credit Manager will promote business for the
Credit Union by maintaining good customer and vendor relations and
refers potential business to appropriate departments and business
units for new services. Normal Day-to-Day Work 1. Plan and direct
all aspects of member business credit activities; including the
credit writing function (i.e., creating, implementing and managing
the underwriting systems necessary to support the credit products
and services for member business lending). 2. Create and implement
policies, guidelines, and procedures for member business credit
portfolio management. 3. Create and implement business construction
lending policies, guidelines and procedures, credit processes,
identify risks and opportunities based on the organizations
business strategy and market conditions, manages credit application
procedures, including the development and implementation of
processes and standards. As needed, create underwriting process,
procedures and policies for different lending scenarios. 4.
Maintain credit scoring model, accept or reject credit
recommendations, monitor periodic credit reviews, review customer
files that require annual term loan financial statement/tax return
updates and recommends loan grade change, monitor credit granting
and update processing, and monitor deductions being taken by
customers. 5. Manage relationships with outside vendors for credit
related services, including collections vendors, credit reporting
agencies, credit insurance providers, appraisal and environmental
providers and sales department vendors. 6. Ensure compliance with
all applicable laws and regulations concerning member business
lending. Mediate disputes with members, while adhering to process
and procedures ensuring regulatory compliance. 7. Approve member
business credit applications within approved lending limits and
make lending officers approval recommendation to Sr. Management and
Board of Directors. Provide financial analysis and underwrite
complex credits for various business types. 8. Understand the
market of member business products and implement the products that
are financially appropriate for our membership. 9. Recommend
changes in the credit policy, credit analysis and timeliness of
credit decisions to senior management and maintains organizations
member business credit policies. Adhere to and interprets financial
calculations and ratios as required under each credit policy. 10.
Manage and train on interpreting applicant credit report(s),
personal financial statements, business and personal tax returns,
and other information pertinent to evaluation of loan application
including established service level agreements. 11. Manage
validation of documentation such as bills of sale/purchase order,
ownership and other documents relating to security and credit
worthiness of application. Job Qualifications Here are a few skills
you MUST have to be considered for this position. 1. Minimum 7-9
years of commercial credit experience. 2. Bachelor's degree in
Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field required.
3. Experience with credit procedures, policies, regulations and
laws, in addition to knowledge of bankruptcy law applicable to
commercial lending and real estate lending relating to
owner-occupied commercial property, commercial, construction and
office. 4. Ability to function in a Consumer business office
environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not
limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc. 5. Ability to lift a
minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer). 6. Travel
required on occasion. Here are a few qualifications we'd LIKE you
to have to make you more suited for this position. 1. Prefer a
minimum of 1-3 years of commercial credit experience at a Credit
Union. 2. Experience researching developments in loan and credit
legislation and implementing new policies. 3. Technical background
and on-going maintenance of loan origination systems (LOS). 4.
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a team
