Title: Technical Product ManagementLength: 6 Month Contract to
Hire (Please gather salary expectations) FAS - Financial Advisory
Services (Wealth, Investment, Insurance). BIG Salesforce Insurance
Project

- Working with a 3rd party to develop Salesforce Insurance
Solution that will support insurance needs end to end, and
ultimately end of life two software products with duplicate
capabilities (Sabian & QLAdmin).
- Salesforce will integrate with MuleSoft (API management
solution)
- Insurance Domain - Life Insurance, Whole Life, term Life,
Annuities, personal line insurance, ** also have 3rd party
insurance capabilities for things such as travelers, renters, auto,
health insurance. Policy administration, underwriting.
- While majority of the Development is owned by the 3rd party, we
will do some inhouse development/customization to learn the product
( and support post golive)Required Experience
- 5+ years of Technical Product Management
- Product Manager that understands technical aspects of the
product capabilities down to the APIs)
- Attitude - Ability to wear many hats to get the team/products
to the next level. Less worried about a Job Title/Job Description
but the impact they can make (ability to take on new
challenges/learn)
- Insurance or Investment Industry
- Management experience - Proven experience in Management of
Task, Coordination of Effort, Resource alignment
- While this role is an IC, this person will give oversight to
day to day direction of team members (no HR aspects. Prior people
management experience is nice to have.
- Agile / SDLC Experience
- Tools - Jira / Confluence SME (lessons learned, and best
practices)
- Ability to lead a daily stand up (as needed)
- Own Project & Product Roadmaps
- Extremely strong organizational skills - While some projects
will have dedicated PM support, others will not, as such, this job
will involve project management work
- Planning - ability to map out (technically)product/project
roadmaps. Work alongside BSAs on team (guiding them) towards
meeting product/project milestones
- Documentation - Strong ability to understand the Business
User's needs and ability (While BSA will write User Stories, you
will document the Workflow between applications (document the
"how")
- Technical Acumen
- While this person may not have ever written code, we are
looking for someone who has lived in the IT Space / SDLC
space.
- Understands APIs and their implementation/support
processes.Preferred Experience
- Salesforce Experience or relevant CRM
- CSM, ScrumMaster Experience (must be willing to step in and
wear the hat of scrum master in future sate)
- Prefer infancy of product delivery through production
- Prior API Development / Webservices Experience (Ideal candidate
will have been a developer earlier in their career, may consider
non developer if VERY strong in Technical Knowledge - ability to
troubleshoot/solution)Role / Job Function
- Champion the project, oversee daily activities / progress of
the System. While the job responsibilities are broad, it's
application is narrow and right sized.
- SME of Product Capabilities & Execution - Liaison between BU &
Technical Teams. Work alongside Business partners (defining
priority, ensuring roadmaps are achievable), ensure backlog is
Groomed. You are not taking over Product Ownership but helping the
business Users with product ownership.
- Agile Delivery - our teams are in their infancy (30-60+ days
out to becoming Scrum Teams). We are looking for you to bring your
lessons learned, and eventually stepping in as Scrum Master as our
agile teams coalesce. When the products mature, this responsibility
will adapt as the organization changes.
- Tools Expertise (Jira/Confluence) to guide teams. We are
currently going through an enterprise roll out of Atlassian
Products. Would Love this person to be a SME in these tools.
- Teaching and Coaching (Business and IT)
- Execute based upon Priority (defined at senior leadership
level)
- Oversee Execution, oversight to team alignment/work without
direct reports (You will step in for both BSAs (2) and Developer
(1)). Ability to speak both BSA/Dev lingo to assist as needed.
- Align "players" in place to reach timelines/deliverables,
coordinate effort, Manage Tasks, review documentation, user cases,
user needs.
- Advise on development solutions.
