Job Summary:
The Pool Manager is responsible for overseeing the pool area,
coordinating with staff and pool management company staff to ensure
an excellent member experience at all times. Responsibilities
include: member service responsibilities are executed in a timely
manner, making safety/operational announcements and maintaining an
inventory of all poolside equipment ensuring available for member
use at all times. Will provide excellent services in a
professional, respectful and friendly manner at all times. Will
serve as a positive role model and is responsible to know, observe
and enforce the Clubs safety & security policies and guidelines.
This individual will embody the Carolina Country Employee Mission
and Absolutes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Promotes welcoming, friendly and helpful member experience from
check-in to exit for all members, guests and dependents.
- Oversees pool area (adult/children) ensuring mechanical,
chemical and operational safety. Enforce club policies and report
incidents to Director.
- Ensures a safe clean environment for all members and
guests.
- Assists and directs staff to pick up debris from the pool and
ensures the deck remains clean.
- Responsible for inventory of aquatics items and supplies.
- Reports broken equipment to Director for repair or
replacement.
- Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection
Policy and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for
this position.
- Assists in pool opening and closing at the beginning and end of
season.
- Communicates with other Lifeguards, Instructors, and Management
on any potential concerns related to the operation of the pool.
Ensure the proper number of lifeguards are present at all times,
alert and in the appropriate locations with proper rotations.
Communicates with the Pool Management company in advance, when
extra lifeguards are needed for special events.
- Assists with the management of the swim team program including
coordinating with swim coaches, member volunteers, assisting with
registration/volunteers/swim meets/swim merchandise sales. Assists
with the set up and break down of swim meets and present for all (3
home meets in June).
- Manages the safety swim band system for youth. Provides swim
tests to members as needed and requested.
- Manages the swim lesson program and coaches. Helps coordinate
lessons for members. Completes billing for lessons.
- Manage check in staff including schedules and step in as needed
to check members in.
- Knows and enforces emergency procedures and safety regulations
in order ensure member safety.
- Responsible for the billing of merchandise and managing the
aquatics POS. Maintains all necessary records concerning pool
attendance, accident reports, problem-member reports (recommends
disciplinary measures of disorderly individuals).
- Provides necessary orientation and training for pool staff.
Enforces club rules of safety and conduct.
- Provides aquatics-related information for club newsletter and
creates a separate printed monthly aquatics newsletter. Assists
with managing the social media account and post pool updates as
needed.
- Manages pool area, including lockers and changing rooms for
cleanliness and lost and found. Maintains presence during special
pool events. Plans and implements activities and schedule on pool
holidays and is present Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day.
- Must be able to work weekends.
Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalency. College degree preferred
but not necessary.
- Two or more years experience in customer/member services.
- Must have the ability to withstand extreme weather conditions
while working outdoors.
- Must have a passion and ability to work with young children
with safety and security as the most important dynamic.
- Must have strong customer service, communication, and
interpersonal skills being flexible, enthusiastic, patient,
friendly and understanding.
- Capable of lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
- Capable of standing and maneuvering independently and safely
around work areas with the ability to setup youth rooms with large
equipment and furniture.
- Ability to see and hear, or to use prosthetics that will enable
these senses to function adequately to assure that job duties can
be performed successfully.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to read,
write, speak and understand English
