Job PurposeThe Landscape Architect Project Manager is responsible
for leading and completing landscape architecture projects and
tasks and will work with an in-house multidisciplinary team to
provide exceptional service and design expertise for our clients.
The Landscape Architect Project Manager will work with the project
team and support personnel to lead and participate in public
meetings, develop permit sets, construction documents, and reports.
The Landscape Architect Project Manager will also possess the
ability to lead project teams and manage client relationships while
maintaining the profitability of projects.
Duties And ResponsibilitiesProject and Client Management
- Manage, develop, and oversee projects consisting of a
combination of site design, construction documents, site master
planning.
- Schedule and lead project meetings and attend site visits as
needed and required.
- Responsible for oversight and approval of design, construction
plans, bid documents, technical specifications, and construction
cost estimates.
- Create and develop contracts, labor estimates, proposals, cost
estimates and take-offs.Technical
- Responsible and accountable for coordination, input and
enforcement of all technical aspects and policies of the
Company.
- Provide quality control/quality assurance consistent with
Company and standards and the requirements of our clients and
regulatory agencies.
- Produce preliminary and completed layouts, design concepts, and
detailed design drawings from technical notes, sketches, and/or
other drawings, ensuring they meet Company and industry standards
and codes.
- Manage tasks and project schedules for project team members and
subconsultants to meet Client expectations.
- Use various applications to generate hand drawings, sketches,
CAD design, report writing, document layout or other deliverables
based on specific project requirements.
- Follow technical aspects and policies of the Company including
utilization goals, profit/loss, and backlog tracking.Project
Leadership/Development
- Lead, supervise and monitor project team members to achieve the
goals and strategies for the Department.
- Mentor and train staff re: workplace, professionalism, design
theory, design processes and other discipline specific
knowledge.
- Participate in building Department/Company team processes as
needed.Client Relationships
- Responsible for cultivation of existing relations including
periodic client meetings, proposal and budget development and
obtaining feedback in conjunctions with Marketing and other team
members as required.
- Seek opportunities for cross-selling to enhance and expand our
existing client relationships during and after projects.
- Participate in civic and community events.
- Attend and facilitate public presentations.

RequirementsRequired:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture or
Architecture.
- Licensed/Registered Landscape Architect in the state of North
Carolina or ability to seek reciprocity.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in design and drafting LA
projects including residential, commercial, and municipal site
development.
- 2+ years of project management related experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of LA practices including, preparation
of construction documents and technical specifications.
- Proficient skill and experience with AutoCAD and Adobe
Suite.
- A team player that is committed to a collaborative design
process.
- Ability to manage tasks and time to maintain project
schedules.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of fostering existing client
relationships.
- Demonstrated personal investment in your career.
- Energetic, flexible, confident, and forward thinking.Preferred:
- Knowledge and experience with federal, state, and local codes
and permitting requirements.
- Exceptional hand graphics, sketching ability.
- Experience with the design of site lighting, producing lighting
plans, and working with lighting software.
- Experience with 3d modelling software.
- Experience leading projects in the City of Raleigh and other
local county and municipalities.
- Experience/relationships with medical office, office,
mixed-use, multifamily, campus and educational design and/or parks
and recreation.
