ESP Associates, Inc. is a multi-disciplinary consulting, civil engineering, planning, and geomatics firm offering public and private clients around the Carolinas opportunities to coordinate on even their most challenging projects, and we are growing the Land Planning & Landscape Architecture department in our Morrisville/Raleigh office.We are seeking a creative Landscape Architect or Land Planner who can serve as a Project Manager in a supervisory role within the Planning and Landscape Architecture team.

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Raleigh studio of Landscape Designers and Land Planners
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and municipalities on a range of projects and coordination tasks
  • Manage design development by: preparing and/or administering Master Plans / Entitlement, corresponding with agencies, managing client relations, providing staff supervision, and mentoring team members
  • Build the team and contribute to overall growth
  • Present to public officials and planning boards for public cases
  • Partner with business development and marketing by: networking, actively participating in professional development forums, presenting work to professional organizations, writing proposals, and maintaining budgets
  • Understand site inventory & analysis
  • Research code requirements & municipal plans for evaluation of new development projects
  • Prepare/oversee conceptual site layout & designs
  • Facilitate preparation of yield plans and feasibility studies for client use
  • Prepare rezoning and development application packages and plans for submittal to public agencies
  • Prepare site plans & planting plans for schematic, design development, and construction documents
  • Assist with preparing specifications, permitting documents, and support construction administration efforts
    Required Skills & Experience:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture or related degree from an accredited program
    • Professional licensure or certification
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Demonstrate ability to provide leadership and review of team production work
    • Creative design skills for complex project solutions
    • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
    • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks
    • Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
    • Self-motivated to produce high quality work in a timely manner
    • Strong freehand illustration and rendering skills
    • Knowledge of grading and drainage solutions
    • Knowledge of plant material and planting design
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Land FX, Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), GIS/ArcView, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
    • Basic knowledge of 3D modeling and rendering programs (SketchUp, Lumion, Rhino, Revit, etc.)
