Hours37.5 Position Summary Regional Advancement Programs is one of
the largest fundraising teams at Washington University and it is
growing. Each team member has a geographic assignment (usually a
state or two) where they work with Alumni, parents and friends to
support the University. Regional Advancement is hiring several
Regional Directors of Advancement who will expand the university's
base of support and strengthen its relationships with existing
donors in an assigned territory. The Regional Director will manage
and build a portfolio of constituents capable of making major gifts
in the five-, six- and seven- figure range and will carry out the
fundraising process from identification and cultivation to
solicitation and stewardship. Successful collaboration and an
appreciation of complex organizations are critical, as the regional
director will work closely with colleagues across University
Advancement to cultivate and solicit multi-interest donors capable
of making transformational gifts.Job DescriptionRegular travel
within the United States is required.Primary Duties &
Responsibilities
- Coordinate university major gifts activity within an assigned
region of the United States and serve as responsible for personal
engagement of approximately 100 donor and prospect households.
Contact, solicitation and gift production goals are established on
an annual basis.
- Assist with implementation of the Regional Cabinet program
within the assigned region, which may include execution of a
variety of events and fundraising activities.
- Work closely with the Danforth and Medical Campus University
Advancement staff to pursue common shared objectives and
goals.
- Help coordinate regional work of deans, school/unit directors
and staff, administrators, as well as faculty working with
prospects.
- Become, and stay well versed on, the mission, projects, and
prospects for a specific school, and serve as the Office of Major
Gifts and Capital Projects' liaison to that school.
- Assist in identifying, managing, and cultivating other special
prospects as assigned.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Associate Vice Chancellor
for Regional Advancement Programs or the Senior Vice Chancellor for
University Advancement. Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- Fundraising experience within a complex university or other
organization with complex reporting relationships is strongly
preferred.
- Experience with major gifts solicitation, successful track
record of individual solicitations, and prospect management.
- Thorough knowledge of institutional development.
- Familiarity with modern university capital gift
techniques.
- Highly successful and experienced professional with excellent
written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse constituents such as
chancellor, board members, vice chancellors, deans, etc.
- Exceptional organizational abilities with the ability to meet
deadlines.
- Strong personal commitment to higher education and its
advancement through professional development.
- Ability to help plan, coordinate and manage capital projects
and campaigns. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Five years of development, sales, marketing or other closely
related experience, preferably within a complex university or other
organization with complex reporting relationships.
- Ability to travel.GradeG15Salary Range$75,400.00 - $132,800.00
/ AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for
positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual
rates within the range will be determined by factors including
one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the
department, market rates for positions within the same grade and
