About usPineCone is the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music and exists to bring people together around bluegrass, old-time, gospel and other forms of traditional music. We are one of the Resident Performing Arts Companies at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh and the producer of the big bluegrass festival held in downtown Raleigh each Fall. IBMA's World of Bluegrass is Raleigh's signature event drawing more than 200,000 people and generating more than $16-million in direct economic impact.This is a fun job!PineCone's Communication Manager will oversee all communications and marketing efforts in support of the organization's programming and mission to present, promote and preserve traditional music. The individual works collaboratively to disseminate PineCone's mission to a broad and diverse audience, and helps boost ticket sales and other revenue streams.Primary responsibilities include: --- Develop, implement and iterate communications plans and editorial calendars that effectively tell PineCone's stories. This will include working with graphic designers and marketing professionals to promote PineCone's signature concerts and events.--- Manage aspects of pinecone.org. This includes writing copy, managing photos, video, audio content effectively. In FY21-22 this will include oversight of a complete website rebuild.--- Manage all social media channels. This will include creating and distributing content that effectively tells PineCone's story and shares our love of traditional music.--- Write, manage and distribute regular e-newsletter(s).--- Write, design and distribute regular print newsletter.--- Create print and digital content to support marketing plan for PineCone concerts and events.--- Play a leadership role in the marketing efforts that support IBMA's World of Bluegrass. This will involve actively working with local and national partners.--- Other duties as assigned.Desired Skills/Knowledge: --- Strong writing, editing and design sense that supports the telling of a long story.--- Command of website management, graphic design, photo and video software.--- Ability to learn new software as needed.--- Passion for bluegrass, old time, folk and other forms of roots music that thrives in the Piedmont of North Carolina.The Communications Manager reports to the Executive Director.ABOUT PINECONE: PineCone is the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music. It is one of the Resident Performing Arts Companies at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts and the producer of the festival connected to IBMA's World of Bluegrass. The free, downtown festival is Raleigh's signature event drawing as many as 200,000 people and generating more than $16-million in direct economic impact. PineCone is funded by grants, sponsorships, ticket revenue and the contributions of members and donors.Job Type: Full-timePay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per yearBenefits:
