Position Description

The Senior Director, Hardware Development is responsible for all aspects of hardware development practices and processes and will lead highly talented and versatile engineering teams. This position is a key member of the management team and will work closely with PAR executive management, customers, product management, project management, and other internal functions to deliver highly reliable products and services on time and within budget.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's in Engineering or related technical degree preferred.
10+ years of experience with demonstrated track record of increasing levels of personal responsibility for decisions and the quality, schedule and budget performance of projects.
5+ years of senior level responsibility for decisions and the quality, schedule and budget performance of a development or QA organization.
Demonstrated skill analyzing business requirements and translating to appropriate technology platforms and architectures and developing written or "functional" technical specifications/requirements.
Proven ability to drive the entire development process from concept, architecture, detailed design, development, QA and customer acceptance with an iterative and test-driven methodology.
Demonstrated successful experience in managing outside partners.
Decision responsibility for designs and all related technical decisions in support of restaurant hardware and associated software for embedded devices to support the food industry.
Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional communication/collaboration skills. Ability to effectively communicate ideas to others and invite/consider input from others.
Accessible and approachable, respecting intellectual integrity and valuing individuality.
Demonstrates personal integrity by doing the right thing in the face of adversity or personal difficulty.
Team oriented approach as demonstrated by the ability to build strong and open working relationships across the organization characterized by mutual respect between superiors, peers and subordinates.
Skilled at gaining team consensus.

Why We Need You

Lead multi-location internal and external development teams to develop world class Hardware and associated software in a fast paced and customer centric environment.
Support and scale existing platforms that continue to grow in complexity as well as usage volume.
Lead the teams working to modify existing designs to improve the quality, reliability, supportability, and extensibility of our offerings.
Oversee Implementing and improving foundational process, architecture practices, and tool chains.
Maintain and improve a Lean, Agile development process with appropriate quality standards and performance metrics to deliver high levels of schedule predictability and customer satisfaction upon release.
Implement strategies and tactics to reduce overall development cycle time year over year.
Identify, evaluate, recommend and implement appropriate technology platforms and processes in alignment with product strategy and overall technology trends.
Ensure the development team's skills and capabilities are aligned to product direction and roadmaps in both the short and long term through internal development and external recruitment of top talent.
Align hardware releases with software roadmap, look for opportunities to leverage hardware platform to create competitive distinction.
Consciously design functionality to reduce support costs across all platforms.
