To learn more about NC State Executive Education, please visit: https://execed.poole.ncsu.edu Planning for Fiscal Year (FY) 22, NCSEE recognizes the importance and value of increasing our financial contributions to Poole College and the university. Market research and client feedback indicate a need/opportunity for NCSEE to expand offerings in open enrollment programs, many of them online. The Associate Director will lead this effort and will be expected to work closely with several university leaders and faculty, staff, students, and corporate clients in the development and delivery of these programs. This position will also engage with key staff, including: Executive Education Marketing Director; Business Development (contract) to support partner selection; program directors; program faculty members; corporate executives; client learning & development leaders; program coordinators; office staff and interns; vendors and NC State personnel across the campus. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to, the development and management of Advisory Boards for the programs, relationships with colleges/departments collaborating in the programs, faculty and office personnel involved in open and online program development and management; research and development efforts that support the management and expansion of open program offerings; meeting deadlines, deliverables and coordination of the personnel responsible for new program development and contracting; and budget management to meet annual financial goals. Closer integration between executive education offerings and for-credit courses will be expected. Success metrics to reflect $1M in new revenue. Working closely with the Director of Executive Education and the Associate Dean for Academic Programs in the Poole College of Management, the Associate Director will develop short and long term strategies for growing open and online programs, improving the efficiency of the office business practices and faculty time, and expand the office's ability to serve the colleges and departments at NC State University. This will include the development of 4-6 new open/online programs in 2021-22; guidance for the Marketing Director on program launch promotional efforts; management of 1 FTE staff (Program Coordinator) and 1-2 student interns; coordination of and support for program directors (when applicable); platform and technical software support selection and management, program faculty selection and management; and program pricing decisions and budget management. The Associate Director will also ensure the office remains compliant with NC State policies regarding data management and the use of payment systems. Other Responsibilities The Associate Director will be instrumental in the NC State Executive Education office's ability to meet our growth and financial contribution goals. Minimum Experience and Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. Advanced degree preferred, but significant work experience (7+ years) valued higher. Other Required Qualifications

  • Proven client, program, and project management experience in working within a university, an office setting is preferred, but will also consider similar experience working in a corporate training role.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with faculty, administrators, and university leaders, and peers as part of a team in a large, complex research university, and experience working with corporate professionals in training activities.
  • Customer service focused with superior interpersonal skills: independent problem solver and client manager.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and exercise thorough project follow-up.
  • Ability to articulate and advocate executive training offerings to an external audience.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); confident and professional manner when interacting with corporate executives at events, meetings, and through email, mail, and phone.
  • Ability to develop strategic plans with measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Strong organization and analytical skills, technical software skills, and strong budgeting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter who can work proactively and independently.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required. Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience working in a training organization at a major university or corporation, with a goal of developing and managing a program budget over $5M annually.
    • An understanding of the land grant, research Tier One university environment.
    • NC State University familiarity. Knowledge of principles, practices, and ethics of corporate training, NC State University payment practices, NC Foundation Accounting and Investing, and the individual colleges and departments at NC State University.
    • Advanced degree preferred, but significant work experience (7+ years) valued higher.
    • Experience with CRM software tools (Hubspot preferred).
    • Experience with Moodle or similar LMS tools.
    • Ability to articulate and advocate executive training offerings to an external audience.
    • Ability to develop strategic plans with measurable outcomes.
    • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic and changing environment.
    • Strong organization and analytical skills, technical software skills, and strong budgeting skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
